The one of great grandparents house the other day was by my twin brother that’s 3 yrs older than me. Most others are by me, like the old oil tank.

Back when I posted about the great pig drive of 1975, I told the story of our truck named Pete. That’s me pushing oinky along.
1975_farm_Image025.jpeg

Here you can see the original bed. Pete was dad’s welding buddy and was originally his welding truck. Had a flat place on back of one side where Pete used to have a vice bolted on.
Dad bought truck from Pete probably in late 60s. After bed eventually rusted out, and it was only a farm truck, we built the wooden bed.
Sometime around 1972 we was taking my oldest brother over to his college roommates house in north part of the county, must have been 5 or 6 of us in that single cab, dad goes around last turn at their house and brakes gave out. We went down into their yard, dad just drives it up thru their yard and parks it.
Another time, I think after the flatbed was on it, mom was driving it as we were picking up hay. Think I was on top stacking, she went down steepest part of hay field and the brakes went out. Whoever was on bailed off the back of the truck along with some hay. The truck coasted to a stop, don’t think mom ever drove the hay truck again.
We also bought a car from Pete later.
Pete built dad a 3 pT blade for our 8N.

After Pete passed away, I bought dad a Lincoln tombstone welder and dad started welding and grinding his stuff up himself.

I had to help Pete with some welding a few times. He called me sparky, actually he called almost everyone sparky.

I bought dad his welder but I have never tried to weld. That’s on my bucket list.

Don't worry about it. I've never built a house. But you have!!!

It's fun. I'm not good at it, I haven't practiced enough. Yet I still enjoy it.

I've never built a house either.

Got a pic of Dad grinding, but not welding... Somewhere I think I have a video of him welding but I can't find it yet.
