We've got a 10" gas pipeline crossing our property...only impact is about every 3 months, a SxS with a gas sniffer runs the pipeline.

Glad it was there...I'm tapped into it!

The farm has a major sewer line and major gas line traversing the property but no luck on the taps as previous original family wanted no part of city services.

Sewer tap is 50k and gas said not possible after it was installed.

The county road is half on farm property and extensive search has not found any easements or sale.

In 1865 the homesteaders donated 1 acre of land for school house and in 1960 the school building removed.

Pioneer family ask for and received the return of the acre because the deed explicitly said return if no longer used as school…

Some pics of the two pipelines going in , one only a temp water line, they already got it laid. The other had the ROW cleared now.

They broke the electric line going to our water well, they temp put it back up, and put their flags back up (they had gotten taken down to lay the stone).

Lot going on again this morning, moving excavators in, taking others out, burning brush, almost took out the power line again.

Better view of water line thru the back 80 acres. THe clump on lower left corner, is foundation of a log house built in early 1800s

Where it leaves our property, they just cut the wire in the fence.. We don't have cows in there any more.

When negotiating with the lawyers for the oil/gas pipeline, they said "they won't put down stone for access, they will just put down timber mats to drive on" Boy were the lawyers wrong....... They do have to reclaim it, but if the road is in good shape when they are done, we might just keep it there.

I just planted our familys legendary potatoes
We used to grow acres of potatoes and strawberries. Brown shows locations of some of our past potato fields. The blue square is the location of another log house from the 1800s-early 1900s , and the reason the barn is away from our house, as this was originally a different parcel of land. The blue circle is another dug well, and the purple circle is our well house, over top of a dug well, feed from the barn roof rain. Over half of the existing barn was added on by dad in the 1950s.
You can't tell the steepness from the picture, but the edges of the field will produce a pucker factor when using the tractor...

Our neighbor to the east, which is four hundred feet down in the valley. Our property corner back here is an almost straight drop downhill, or at least right after the corner... The creek where they will draw water from, drains into the Ohio River.

Corner stake on the hill in 1994. I have it marked looking East on the EW line, but it appears by the slope to be looking North on the NS line. Dad is behind the corner post. Right behind him it drops very steep.

That seems rather like "do not listen to what they say, read what is in the contract...", but I am glad you are ok with it.

Why the temporary water line in the first place?

All the best, Peter

The problem is the lawyers did not specify it in the contract, except we do have a reclaim clause, so either way works. I prefer the stone.
Temp water line is for different company, different pad.

I would guess that line is connecting to the line running 1/4 a mile from my place as we speak.

/ Life on the farm #918
There are currently 3 pads within a 3 square mile radius of my place. Actually the 2 recent earthquakes are less than a mile also.

delivered some pipe up the road. How these trucks even get up our road is a wonder. The one bringing in water line on spools last week got stuck in ditch and they had to run the big dozer a half mile down the road to pull it out.
