Paul,

Let her drive the 3010 HST and you will suddendly own a tractor that she will enjoy, too. Let her drive a TC18 without power steering first, though.

It looks like I need to get another tractor too, or two. I bought my JD5210 in Feb. and it now has 129 hours on it. My son and his wife, who share our 40 acres, and my wife have put about 125 of those hours on it. My wife will get on it and bushhog. When there are only a couple of rounds left she will ask me if I want to finish. She is so considerate /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif. My son is also. Yesterday I got a new box blade and he let me use it first! They also let me make the payments.

Wen/Paul,

Be very careful here...IF you let her drive a TC18, you'd NEVER get her on one of those Orange things! /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Well, maybe not, but now you're betting on the fact that she's got some sense of propriety about embarassing her husband by outworking him! And that's definitely going against the odd's! /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Mark, I wouldn't play those odds with my better half....She's s more than stuburn enough to try... Mabye when we buy one,I should install one of those hidden switchs mention else ware and tell her it's just tricky to start/w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif...Tell her it's a common problem with tractors..Ya'll think the dealer would back me???/w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gifSome one mentioned getting her on an L series...I would but its a bit more than I need and can pay for...I've been looking at the TC21D and the B2410 HST models 4x4 with pwr stearing and a loader...I Plan on taking her to a couple of dealers this saterday and see what she thinks...Ya'll keep your fingers crossed and mabye your toes too.......

I noticed that the models are better looking on the NH brochures.

If you put one of those hidden switches on, make sure it's the one in series with the safety starter interlock switches, so she can't run the battery down trying to start it.

As for the dealer going along, he might, but you'd better sign the check, or you can forget it!

How soon are you buying? Are you leaning toward one model over the other?

Good left jab, right hook combination there, Von!

On the subject of brochures, I've requested them from NH's web site several times and never seen a thing. It makes me wonder...

PBurns,

It looks like you are going to be a tractor owner really soon. Congratulations.

Thanks for the tip Mark. There is nothing like going out to us a toy, I'mean piece of qaulity equipment and finding it wont start...AS to when I'll be buying depends..I'm trying to sell my current home..(under contegency contract now and may have 2 more offers behind that one.)thank goodness for new shcools...If all goes well, depending on what my wife will give me off the sell of the house, determines on which machine,What goes with it etc..I have taken a liking to the NH TC21D and the B2410..I have driven both around the lot and was impressed with the monuverability of both...Will start with the basic 2,boxblade and brushcutter... Would like the FEL but can add it later I suppose...Will deffenetly be 4x4 with pwr stearing..I rented an L3010 with 4x4,FEL,and brushog this spring and almost got stuck on flat ground(missjuged the wettness <--is this a word..If not for 4x4 and diff lock things would have gotten messy...The mud was 10-12" deep there,Might be a good place for a pond...Hopefully I will be able to make a deal for one by the fall...The pasture is thigh high now...Hate to keep renting...I was qouted 10,5 for the NH and 12,2 for the B24210.This spring before the fuel prices started raising costs...Beside the price though I've taken a liking for the TC21D...Can't realy say why though, it just stands out to me for some reason between the two...Can't be the color I'm a "crimson fellow"Tide that is...Besides JimB could use the help.../w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif Think I'll read some more of this "never ending story"....SEE YA!!!

I had to tell my wife how to move our B2150 a few weeks ago when I was at work and she needed to get the horse trailer out to take a horse to the vet for an emergency. I never park in front of the trailer except for that one day. I had gone 5 years with her not knowing how to start that thing.

Now, just this morning I come downstairs with my kids and look out back and here is my wife driving MY tractor from one barn to the other to get a load of hay. OH NO!!! It's
starting!! She didn't even tell me she needed another load, she just took it upon herself to go get it. She came back to the house and said, "I drove your precious tractor." All I could say is "That's nice honey."

ARRGGGHHH, I am losing my manhood!!!! Pardon me, but it's only been a couple hours since this spectacle and I am still trying to recover.

My wife doesn't really want anything to do with the tractor./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif But then, there aren't any chores to do around here that she needs done with it. I have encouraged her to drive it and she has about twice, once just for the first test drive over a year ago and the second moving it when we were pulling out a bush to move. Other than that it is mine to mow, move dirt, etc. Just had 100 tons of fill sand delivered yesterday to make the grade out of the south end of my barn more gradual. Using the back blade but sure wish I had a rake! /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif

Hi PBurns,

It's been awhile since I heard anyone talk about the Crimson Tide. I grew up in Jacksonville (near Anniston and Fort McClellan), and moved away in '86. Once a girl I was sweet on poured beer on my head because I didn't favor Alabama over Auburn--I didn't care either way. I guess that's not good enough when it comes to the Iron Bowl!

Good luck with the new tractor.

-Don
