I tried various plastic restoring compounds with decreasing grits. It made the Lexan (Polycarbonate) worse. Windex was used on Lexan which melts the surface and made it cloudy. Only Plastic cleaner or mild soap should be used, never Windex.

My ASV replacement material came from ePlastics.com
Clear Polycarbonate sheet 23 x 38 x .500" thick with abrasion Resistant coat both sides was $316.31 delivered. Still looks good after 4 years of forestry work.

I now use this plastic cleaner: Amazon.com : Plexus Plexus Plastic Cleaner, Protectant and Polish (13-Ounce) : Boating Cleaners : Automotive

McGuire Mirrorglaze is what is used on aircraft plexiglass windshields and it works well.
On car headlights that yellow fine rubbing compound does a good job.
For severe marks extremely fine sandpaper (like 800 and up to 2000 grit) precedes rubbing compound for restoration and I have seen kits sold for that purpose.

Do a search for clearing headlight covers. There is a myriad of ways/products that are used.

Hand cleaner/sic in. Polisher worked well on my truck headlights.
