Let's see some homemade 3 point ballast!

Looking for ideas to make my own 3 point ballast. I'd love to see what you've made for yours.

On my to do list. Would like to see some ideas too. I've got a 55 barrel. Was thinking of putting some pvc pipe in vertically to carry chain, shovels, etc then filling with concrete.

I like the design with the basket on the top. Great place to carry chains etc.

Have you used that on your 2555? Do you find it to be too heavy on the 2555 size tractor?

1 ton close in on your 3pt does not stick out like a big implement, but you could put a 1/2 ton implement sticking way out to accomplish the same thing. 1 ton is not too much for the 2555's loader capacity rating... but you would not want to drive around all day with it back there just for looks. I have not put it on the 2555 yet. And my 5035 has 1500 pounds of Bradco built hoe sticking out the back 24/7 since I have other tractors for 3pt work. I am going to put a weight on the rear of my little 1526, but will use 8 Allis Chalmers suitcase weights. It will lift the 1 ton weight, but the front in does not want to steer much..... I lifted the 1 ton weight laying down on the forks of my 5035 [ on a pallet with the cement forms still on it ], and she was pretty light in the rear. Even with my ample arse back there.....
