Lenar tractors!

So does Lenar have better quality control than DF or Taskmaster? Quality speaks for itself. Doesn't matter if a Ford exec is running the place, or if they implemented procedures, themselves. If their quality is significantly better, they will sell themselves, from owners word of mouth, not what any competing dealer or tractor rep has to say.

Ben,

You can stick to the facts and if that makes Buck look bad, then so be it. I suspect if he is wrong he will apologize. He is that sort of person.

Your first post on this site and you flamed a regular guy. I don't know about Lenar, and I don't care a lot about them either, but we do better on this site by not being so sarcastic.

Just my opinion.

I agree and time will tell. I think that the Lenar rep may have just been frustrated and wote based on his frustration at what appeared to be an attack on their credibility.

I do have to say that if Ford is a major share holder and if Ford QC type controls are used then they are moving in the right direction. I don't think that the claim was the best tractor in the world. I think and please correct me Lenar if I am wrong, that he was incensed by this statement by one who does not appear to know the relationship.

The statement of "so far it is a whole lot of talk and not enough do" was a little bit of a credibility attack and thus got a response that seems to be written in a bit of frustration.

I for one now see that a real & credible relation exists between the two companies and thus lends credibility to the potential claim of a more consistently produced machine. It may not but they do have some good support in their position.

I for one think that Lenar is on to something that should benefit them and hopefully the end user.

We have an organization that seems to have a problem focusing on the positive that they can offer. If a rebutal is in order, it should focus on facts and not be personal. It may be that certain chinese brands are vastly superior to others: if so it should be possible to substantiate claims in some positive manner rather than "the other guys sell junk". And if a Ford minority investment means that new quality control measures have been implemented, why haven't we heard what they are?
As to me, I own a Jinma after being putoff by the negatives of some of those selling other brands.

I agree mostly with what you are saying and hope that no one thinks I have been out of line. I simply believe that the Lenar rep got somewhat frustrated and vented.

Take a look at the first post and see how EFC leveled the guy before knowing who he was. The gentleman came back politely and explained he was not a dealer. EFC retracted but he certainly was not above a "flame" & not knowing what he was talking about. Maybe it would be wise if before we attack to know what/who it is we are attacking.

I simply did a very quick search and posted my easily found results of at least a very certain and definitive relation between the two companies. I am only producing facts.

Here is a fact for ya. A 29% stock ownership may very well be a majority. I don't know that they do but. You see if if the other 71% of the company is split up amoung many others and no single one owns more than Ford then that would make Ford the Majority. This is an example and I am not saying Ford does own a majority. I am simply saying that we should state the facts as we know them and post documentation of that. All I know now is that Ford is a major stockholder. Would this be disputed?

I think that maybe EFC & Lenar maybe should settle their differences and move on. In my opinion after looking at both tractors I will wait. I am interested in knowing if Jinma has any strategic relations with any notable world class manufacturers. I have shyed away from them but have an open mind. I have just heard so much crap from everyone that maybe I should just go buy a NH and not worry about all this anyway.

Oh well, at least I am thinking a little more and if nothing else this has opened my eyes to some other previously unasked questions.

Thanks!

First of all I want to start by apologizing to those that felt my post was too harsh. It was an attack on Lenar that surfaced that response by me and it wasn't the only time my company has been bad mouthed by that member because of uneducated reasons.
As for you gentlemen that say you feel too "dumb" to buy Lenar, I am sorry. I think you may have mistaken "confidence" for "arrogance;" in that, Lenar tractors and Jiangling Motor Company's true desire is to market a better quality Chinese tractor built to American specs. And yes, the proof is in the fact that Jianling marketed one model all year long, with constant modifications, in order to make it more suitable for us American weekend warriors. Whereas JM is solely a Chinese tractor, built for China, with no American presence. And the main objective seems to be exporting as many models as possible each year into the USA with little concern about improving quality or support, but that is my opinion from experience. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see the difference in a Chinese tractor factory that spends all year trying to get one model perfect, not worrying about mass sales of various models. Their whole purpose is to create a national brand in this country that is "sought" instead of "fought" and that people can rely on as a low-cost alternative for compact tractors. If you are still unsure, go look at a a Lenar vs. a typical Chinese tractor, please!!! Get on one, test it out, then come back to the board and tell me you still want some other Chinese model instead of the Lenar.

BENJ:

I would be happy to test use a lenar: I've had my JINMA for over a year and have been happy with it, yes I wish it had suttel shift and a better hydro system sometimes, (needs remotes for sure) the FEL and backhoe work as advertized but could be better. now if you are looking for people to help test them maybe provide some insentives for us unworthy jinma owners then perhaps we would be willing to trade up to the lenars... I'm not badmouthing anyone, my elxeriance is only with my jinma and the few others who have similar units. I am more than willing to take a look test drive ect. any around this area? north center of ohio.

Hi Mark, haven't chatted with you since the CTOA? That was you right? Mark M? To help you acheive your wish, we do have exclusive Lenar distributors/dealers in both Indiana and Pennsylvania. You can goto www.lenartractor.com and click on the links page to get a list of the dealers around you. And you can contact them via email or telephone. They will be more than happy to let you test a Lenar out! Remember, this is our first full year of exporting Lenar and so far, so GREAT! We have distributors from New Mexico to Maine and a lot of places in between. Every dealer that had experience with other Chinese tractors before they got Lenar were amazed! They claimed that there was no "re-fitting" or "re-work" required like other brands and also were impressed with the Jiangling engine, which is manufactured by JMC, and has proven to be more powerful than and out performs other compact lines by far.

I have purchased and driven the Lenar recently and still have it ,Im proubally going to run it for a little while to give it a good work out and then sell it ,So far so good,I bought it basically to "check out".I also sell Jinma, Df and Century,Im not going to get into details but I will say that Lenar was pretty nice and overall I was very impressed ,I did find a couple areas needing minor improvement but they are in the right direction as far as Chinese tractors go and I feel they are moving in the right direction ,I do feel that bashing other Chinese tractors will not help in anyway and that Ive seen on several western web sites so lets all make peace and get those tractors muddy and have a great Thanksgiving !! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
