Have you registered at JDParts (it's free), there is a tutorial linked in my signature.

Which part do you need, and why?

the left side claw is worn a bit. tried to shim it but am not happy with it still. maybe i'll just put more shims in.

seems like this style of loader has this happen a lot. do the newer 300cx etc series have this same issue?

Very likely the only thing needed is an adjustment in the side arms that attach to the front weight bracket. There are two bolts to loosen, slide that arm and retighten. Lengthening the arm will give more rotation of the "claw" around the square post and remove the slop (which sounds like what you are describing).
This is an adjustment that is supposed to be made when setting up the FEL, but can easily be missed (or forgotten or ignored) by the set-up crew. I've had the 430 FEL for 14 years, and no "issues" with slop.

Do as kennyd suggests, and look at all the parts of the 430 on jdparts.

A pic of the problem area may help answer/help you more.

i dont have pics handy, but am intrigued by what you mention.

i did loosen a couple bolts on the front of the loader and try to move them a bit. but i'll try again....maybe i did the wrong ones? can you describe this procedure in more detail, or point me somewhere?

Search. 430 loader dang the slop. A thread I started. Dfkrug put a pic in that shows what to do. I did it and it is better. But still sloppy.

Here is a jdparts view of the mast and front frame, and the bolts #14 are where the adjustment is needed. There are shims shown that may be needed for some installations, but doubt you would need any shimming, just lengthening. The procedure should be in the 430 manual, but it isn't. See if you can stop by the Deere dealer and ask for the set-up materials they are supposed to use.

When you first posted this procedure (on another thread a few months back), I went out to see if I could adjust my loader's mast and arm. Bolt 14 is a carriage bolt (no flats or allen socket) and the nut is welded into place. The hole the bolt goes through is round (not slotted as one would expect for an adjustable fastener). The paint on both the bolt head and nut are Deere green and match the adjacent area, so I don't think anything was removed or replaced (i.e. factory stock).

Maybe I'm dense, but I cannot see how an adjustment could be made...not as you've described it. Have you made this adjustment? If so, can you be more precise on how it was done?

really interested in this as well.

do the 200/300 cx series suffer from 'slop' too?

Not that I see. My father has the 400 loader and it is nice. If I can scrape the cash this 430 is gonna turn into a 300
