LED Work Lights on ROPS - Info and Wiring Questions

Be careful where you pull your power from.
Some OEM Connectors and Circuits are not setup for higher amperage and yes I understand the lower amperage draw but if you add enough LED Lighting you can over power an OEM Circuit very easily.
It is far better and sometimes safer (overheated wiring) to add a new fused circuit setup to handle the new circuit amperage.

Just talking out loud, I will get off the box now.

It has been a while since you last posted and you should have gotten to the property by now.
Was wondering how,you ended up wiring the lighting on the tractor ?
Always good to know how things end up, something to learn from every setup.

I like things to look factory installed so I came up with this. It copies the ROPS curvature and is aircraft aluminum. It is attached with bolts that were tapped into the ROPS. A small hole to the side allows the wires to go down inside the ROPS. It is a very clean design. Power is via the customer fuse with two switches (forward /rearward ). Two racing type switches so in cold weather you just swipe them to turn off. LEDS are the 27W. 20151006_150610_000.jpg

That light setup is really nice looking, unfortunately when I looked at the picture all I could think of was you lying on the hood upside down like an artsy photographer. Not that there is anyting wrong with that, just made me smile. I have added a few lights to my DK I came off of the tap supplied for the rear work light. I didn't like that they were on all the time so I taped into the high beams with a relay. I will try to snap a picture, I put 2 lights on each side of the flasher/blinker lolly pops for forward and rear. I still want to add something to the roll bar because the bucket leaves a dark spot dead center when it blocks the factory headlamps. I didn't want all my lights up there because I have to fold it down to get in and out of the garage so it stays in the 45 position most of the time. Has anyone devised a system that will keep your roll bar lights plum in both the 45 and up positions? My other thought was to just get a little bat symbol to put over the light when in the 45 position.

What about running a crossbar from one side loader post to the other side, and have it raised in the middle over the hood/dash so it can illuminate the dark area the headlights miss. Go from the loader post bolt hole already present, up at a 45* angle then across to the other side and back down to the loader post hole. This could be accomplished with the angle metal, with holes already drilled, available in hardware stores.. This allows the hood to function, the ROPS to not be involved at all, and the lights to cover needed areas with no obstruction.

I found if I post from my phone it is upside down. The LED lights on the ROPS are incredible and the entire front (and back) are lit up like daylight.
