I have a 4WD Kubota M4900 w/ a FEL and it has been a real good tractor with no issues for over 1100 hours. Yesterday though as I was planting I noticed a fluid leak from the top of the cylinder by the front left tire. I assume the cylinder is a gear casing and the leak is from a blown gasket that sits on top of the cylinder. Does anyone have any experience with this and how difficult is it to fix?

Thanks.

Gotcha
Come on down to the next right after Bull Island Rd and have a beer sometime :)

Good luck with your leak...hoping to have ours resolved this weekend as parts came in today. Problem is the ATV is also down at the moment with a blown CV boot so there may be nothing to do at the place except walk around...in the heat.

What did you just plant?

Got some rain up that way yesterday

Our place is in Walterboro and I think it rained out there, but not positive. We're in the process of clearing out about 10 acres that were planted pines. Have one ~2 acre field that has been completely cleared and we've just put out "wild bird food" which is millet, sorghum and sunflower. It's cheap and we really haven't had time to do soil samples and really prep it so figured this is better than nothing. Sunflowers have been demolished and the sorghum/millet is growing pretty good for the little we've done.

Is that seal in the link I posted what's leaking on your tractor?

The leak is an oil seal on the front gear case. Apparently it ruptured, I'm gonna pull it of and make sure and then order my parts and change the fluid and reinstall, will probably do both of them for that matter.
