Microsoft is trying to move to subscription model and get money every year from everyone, not just for office products, but for Windows also. Many companies are already selling their products that way, more coming. Perpetual licenses moving to term licenses with time bombs to stop working when term is up.
The problem is, they don't charge less and people are not going to like paying each year for computer software.
I don't want to work the kinks out of Linux updates to stay on top of security fixes. I want someone else to take care of it. It is why I run Windows. If I wanted to spend a lot of money I would switch to Apple but I am cheap so I run Windows.
I still don't know what kinks you are talking about. It is all automatic...I just press a button saying it is OK to install them...my choice. But to each his own, stick with Windows if you want.
