Anyone else having troubles with the latest Windows 10 update?

First off, yesterday evening the pooter would not even function because it started the update soon as I woke it up. After 1 1/2 hours, it was at 27%. Left it for the night and used the iPad.

This morning, it froze and said the hard drive had failed. Farted around with that and finally got it to work, but discovered my HP printer showed in the printer selection but would not print. Haven't solved that yet. Almost easier to just send something to my iPad and to view it there for if I need something in hand somewhere else like a printed page.

This evening, it was REAAAAALLLLLLY slow in waking up. Could have made coffee during the time it sat to get "sign in" box up. Then everything, Edge, Outlook were terribly slow in coming up. Once up, speed is okay.

Googled the problem. Others have had it. All kinds of goobledegook from Microsoft for some possible "fixes". Tried one, it wouldn't even load up.

About ready to get a keyboard for my iPad and use it for everything except Publisher work.

The update took a long time, but things work fine now (3 computers over a week period)..

..Anything Windows based...going to someday be a PITA. I have 3 different computers running 3 different machines. ... hate the thought of doing the update and having them **** the bed. ..On. The other hand..I have a 6 or 7 year old Mac....has never once given me a problem.

Had breakfast with several of my fellow retirees last Friday. They were lamenting the Windows update as well! They would really like to figure out how to turn off all the automatic stuff. From what I heard, it seems every time they turn on their computer, some new pop-up or update auto runs.

I leave my computer on and let it sleep when not in use. That allows most of the updates to happen at night and only occasionally require a reboot. Much better than slowing my system down while it checks for updates every time you turn it on.

This kind of stuff makes me happier than ever that I updated my Windows 10 computer to Windows 7 Professional.

Depending on your version of windows 10...there may be an option to delay the updates up to 30 days I believe. I set mine to 30 days and let these issues get worked out before it gets to my pc. This may only be on the PRO version I believe.

No issues here, Windows 10 64 bit Professional with full programmers software too. Seamless upgrade, too about 3 minutes to load on my chipset hard drive.

Seems to be back to normal this morning, but I did most everything on the iPad except respond to much anything. Gotta get a keyboard for it for much of that. Haven't tried the HP printer. Fight that battle when it comes up, if it does again.

I let mine sleep. Don't turn it off. Still, updates only start when I revive it.

You can go into Settings on Win 10 and get into Updates. I check and download the updates manually much like with Win 7. That way you have control and do it when you want. When downloading the updates set your computer so it won't go to sleep.

I checked in settings on the update history and have been getting them with no issues. I haven't had any Regen issues on my tractor yet either so I have that going for me

The Home version also has the update delay feature: start > settings > Update & Security > Advanced options > Pause until > select date

I've been using Windows for decades. One best practice that hasn't changes in all those years is to delay Windows updates as long as possible. "The Pioneers take the arrows, the settlers take the land".

On my work computer, it starts getting weird problems when an update is pending.. for example, it has trouble connecting to sharepoint sites or won't open an attachment or is slow on the network.. I have learned over the last several years to see if an update is pending when I have any issues. It usually is and I click the update and restart and give it 20 minutes to update and restart.. very seldom have issues after updates. My work computer had a battery at 31%, plugged on, not charging on it yesterday after the recent update.. I removed the battery and charger in the device manager, shutdown down and removed power. Plugged back in, restarted, it added the battery and charger back and charged right up.. seems to be a common problem when I searched on Google.

I am still running Win7 on my PC, never 'upgraded' to Win10. But one of the programs I run says that since MS stopped supporting Win7, that program won't run when I update it next year. I need to find if that program is available for a MAC as I refuse to "upgrade" to Win10.

I have two computers on W10 and don't have any problems.

My Brother hates W10 and went back to W7.

I have no idea why these problems seem so random??

All you have to do is follow instructions that Kubota lays out in the owners manual for regen and there is no issue. Problems arise when owners get 'creative' and over ride the regen repeatedly. Problem is, people don't read. They 'assume' or watch some corny You-Tube video that is totally bs and go with that.

Plug and play don't work with T4 final regeneration. The 'plug and play winds up being 'plugged and no play'.....

I believe the home edition (16 bit) and the Professional edition (64 bit) are 2 distinctly different software packages. My 64 bit professional version runs flawlessly. Just did another upgrade this morning.

Pretty sure my Windows 10 Home Edition is 64 bit. I upgraded to it from Win 7 with free download from Microsoft's website earlier this year. So far no issues at all. :confused3:

Actually Win 10 pro and home are available in both 32 and 64 bit.
