Well, that didn't work.

Tried to post the mother's Facebook report without any of the info about us and it DID NOT WORK. So I cannot put a picture of the terrible scars on the young lady's leg.

So I will summarize.

The last scab fell off the scars last night. No scabs had appeared until last week. It was 82 days, 1 hour and 33ish minutes after the attack. She is still limping, probably always will, and still going to wound management and physical therapy. Apparently the therapy is very rough because the mother said she dreads it greatly. My daughter said that one of the scars wrapped over halfway around her leg and I could see it in the pictures. That is the one that nearly killed her. There are also chunks of muscle and skin missing around the largest scar.

She is going to be okay.

Glad to hear she will be ok!

Guess I missed the main story but dog bites on children can be traumatic and with lifelong effects.

Prayers.
I'm thinking the same thing. I was reading this the whole time going what?

I am very sorry for not putting more info into the original post here. Below are the links to the other three posts about this incident in order. To make a long story short, the child was attacked in her home by a stray dog that came thru a door from the garage. The mother wrestled the dog off her and out the door. The bone was exposed in at least one of the bites. And the surgeon that worked on her told the parents that it was the most stitches he had ever put in one limb. A warning though, the third thread was closed by moderators. Some on the forum were upset that the father had shot another stray.

Yeah, let's not go down that road again and just wish the girl a healthy and speedy recovery. ;)

Were I the Dad I'd fix the loose dog problem quickly. And so would everyone else that's followed this.

Rsky, thanks for the update!! Still makes me shudder thinking about it.

Glad to hear that she's recovering. Hopefully the less obvious scars are healing, also. She sounds like a pretty spunky kid.
