Here is my favorite cleanup buddy helping me carry the last load of scrap/excess wood materials away from my new house. The chain-on forks really come in handy. The rear gets a little light, but if the bucket can lift it, the tractor can move it.

Hi Jim,
Do you have your rear tires filled or is the box blade your only counterweight?

Thomas, I actually have several terraces to build and then I need to do some landscaping right up around the house. If everything works out okay, I'll get the terraces done this winter and next spring I'll get the landscaping done after the soil settles in. Here in Texas, we don't have the severe winters you do in NH, so I should be able to work most all winter. Like this weekend, you had snow and ice and here it was 70. I've resisted posting pictures of my house because I want to keep more to the main subject of TBN, but maybe one more won't hurt (see attachment). I can't wait to have my first barbecue or catfish fry on my deck.

Mike: I don't have ballast in my rear tires. The unballasted TC45 is heavy enough for everything I've done so far. I've had such bad luck with ballast previously that I decided to wait until I absolutely needed it. Also, if I put ballast in the tires, it will make my tractor overweight for hauling on my trailer. Essentially, that means ballast would cost me $2000 when you consider I'd have to buy a new trailer. In the first picture, if I set the boxblade on the ground, the right rear tire lifts about 2 inches into the air. I'm glad I wasn't going far with this load and the ground was smooth. /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif

Yes, Texas is a very big place. Houston is about 375 miles from me, but you'd be surprised how Texans from all over share a common pride and love for their state. I was born here in 1947 as a third generation native texan, so my roots go pretty deep. Of course, The northeast U.S. is pretty neat too. I spent a little time there when I was in the Navy and have always been fond of the history and heritage of your area.

Hey don't worry about staying with the content of TBN I would like to see more pics of the house, there will probably be tire tracks in the photo anyway and that is tractor related./w3tcompact/icons/tongue.gif

Jim,

Do you have a better picture of the forks? Did you buy them or fab them yourself? I need to move a ground blind (deer stand) and a set of forks attached to my bucket would just be the ticket for getting the job done.

Chris, I bought these at my New Holland dealer, but they were made by a company in Colorado (label is scratched off, so I don't know where). Here is a link to a photo.
