Hello everyone, I had read in the past on this forum that it's possible to rebuild the "non serviceable" spindles of the 42" edge deck on the LA series lawn tractors. I would like to know if anyone who has done this can tell me the size(s) needed and the level of difficulty or process involved. The spindles on my grandmothers LA125 have developed excessive play in the bearings. I would like to avoid the ~$140.00 for spindle assemblies at the dealer if at all possible. Thanks in advance. Hello everyone,

I ended up buying new spindle assemblies and installing them. I have set aside the originals with the intent to rebuild for spares. If I remember to do so, I will document and post for others to reference.

Thanks,

Bobby

Don't the new spindles come with grease zerks in them? I thought they did if so that's the better choice. When you buy a cheap mower they come with cheap parts. I know that sounds rude but replacement parts for something like that is going to be expensive.

Watch the cheap aluminum/white metal cast spindles. I used them once and cracked the ears off them the first rock I hit. Its better to go OEM with them.
