L5740 THIRD FUNCTION VALUE.

Can anyone tell me what a third function value is or does and benefits if the option is available to have it? Im refering to a L5740.

Anyone have or used a L5740?

Is it as easy to operate as the brochure indicates?

And brochure specs say it has 59HP

3rd function is for auxiliary hydraulics on the FEL. Run grapples, 4 in 1's, etc.

No. But plenty have.

Every manufacturers brochure will say my tractor is easier to operate. I say they are all about equal.

The 59HP would be the power to the tires and the 50 is the power the PTO can put out to a mower or such. Many people measure only by PTO HP as that is really what determines what you can run with your tractor. You have to look at all the requirements are for 3PH attachments so you don't get something way to big or way to small for your tractor.

Sure does. Think of it like trying to run a rear mower without a PTO. You have to have those hydraulics up front to run the 4 in 1. Now, are those hydraulics in the base cost of a 4 in 1, I can't answer that, it may be more on top of that, but you would have to get it. (Or plumb one of the rear remotes to the front yourself, but that's not nearly as pretty)

I would not take for granted that the third function valve and associated plumbing to the front of the loader are included, especially if the bucket is provided by a different manufacturer. You need to make sure with the dealer that it is either included or added to your configuration.
