Re: L48 Loader Problems

I'd been following this thread with interest--Have you had any luck getting your problem resolved?

Hoping you have...

Re: L48 Loader Problems

Chris
I posted my last update under the New L48 thread. Sorry for the confusion. When I first started posting I thought that changing the wording in the Subject Field would create a new thread but I was wrong and it ended up in the middle of the L48 or L4610 thread. To bad it can't be moved.
I will be stopping in at the dealers in the morning to see if the new spool (relief) valve is in and will let you know how it came out.

Re: L48 Loader Problems

John, let me know what they do (did) to the spool valve, I need details as I'm pretty sure thats where I "hear" my problem with the dump feature. As I try to tilt or dump the bucket while it is on the ground, I feel I am getting immediate pressure relief from the spool valve which means very little dump power or pressure. Perhaps Kubmech knows exactly what is involved in retrofitting the spool valve. Everything else seems to be working great. I now have 50 hours and alot of dirt moved. Rat...

Re: L48 Loader Problems

Stopped in at the dealers this morning and the service manager showed me a brand new leveler valve. Said it was only $10 more than the spool so he ordered the whole thing.
He is going to try and get it installed next Monday or Tuesday so maybe I will have something to test next weekend. As to what they did to the spool. Looks like it is adjustable but if all they did was adjust it I'm not sure why they ordered a new one. I will see if I can't talk to the mechanic next week. Will let you know how it comes out.

Have 92 hr on mine now and have moved a lot of dirt also. My cabin site is about 60 wide 120 long and the cut on the back is about 11 foot high now.

Re: L48 Loader Problems

Johnjc it sounds like its a good thing you don't use the 48 for running a business with so much down time. Even with all the problems how would you rate the machine overall on a 1-10 scale and also how would you rate the loader and hoe seperately. It looks like you have a nice site and have moved a crapload of dirt.If I purchased a 48 it would be used commercially.
