Kubota L4740 HST with FEL
My console panel shows very little - hours, MPH, PTO, fuel and temperature. I read in the Owners Manual that it should show the rabbit and turtle for H-DS, HST Mode and should also show what HST gear it is in (L,M or H) plus a few other things. Could possibly fuses be blown? How can I check the panel to determine if something is broke or unplugged? Can it be replaced with a new panel? Thanks.

I guess I'm the only one with console panel problems.

Take some pictures to help show what you are talking about. I don't know that model and so have no idea, but if I (or others) see what you are talking about, then someone may have an answer. Do you have a owners manual? I would bet it is covered in the manual.

Is the tractor less then two years old? We have not had any troubles with the dashes so far.

the fuse box is lower left when you're sitting in the seat. I doubt it's a fuse as some displays are working and others are not. More likely it's a fault in the panel itself. It could also be a loose connection in the harness that connects to the panel--I might try to check that before taking it in to the dealer for a check.

Thanks for the replies. Thought maybe it could be an easy fix like a fuse. I could not find anything in the owners manual so I ordered a Service Manual from Messicks. Hopfully it is covered in it.
BTW: It is a 2007 L4740 HST with 800 hours that I bought used.

In an earlier post you said this was broke before you got it and replaced with a new panel. You also stated the new control panel had 3 hours on it when you bought it, and that the person you bought it from said the person they bought it from said it had 800 hours on it??? Does this sound fishy to you? Makes me wonder about the real history of this L4740. Did you test drive this tractor and have a mechanic look over it before you bought it? Why were they selling the tractor? I'm sorry buddy, and I hope you get everything fixed, but I think you bought one hard worked and abused tractor. Including myself, I have never heard of anyone having problems with the control panel. Philip.

I'm not sure if it got used hard but I am wondering if it was involved in a flood, I hope I'm wrong. Between this and your H-DS not working correctly has me wondering a little. The dash should be sealed so water wont affect it but the connectors aren't always sealed as well. If there's a little water in a plug it can cause funny things to happen.

I think if it was me I would take some of the dash apart and see how things look, maybe even use some IPA to clean/ dry out all the connectors and then put a little dielectric grease in them before connecting them back together. Maybe a connector just didn't get snapped together all the way and has worked itself loose.

Yep. Noobe here! The tractor doesn't appear to be abused. The engine and other parts look brand new. It also starts with just a flick of the key. The seller is a dealer and has a business reputation to uphold so I thought (and still think) he is honest. But I think I will give him a call (which is obviousley what I should have done already) and ask about this panel.

Hopefully your dealer will help you out. Like I said I hope it's just something simple. I really doubt any dealer would knowingly sell a tractor if he felt it had been abused or in a flood without telling you.

Well, I think it is fair to say that no one who read this post has ever changed out their console panel.
I called the dealer and he said the new panel was probably not programmed correctly. Since these panels work in gear, GST and HST transimission tractors when a new panel is installed it must be programmed for the specific transimission on the tractor.
He sent me the programing directions. It is very easy to program the panel - took me 5 mins. Now everything works as it should - all icons now working.

Wow, great to hear. Even better that you could do it yourself so easily without bringing your tractor to the dealer.
