L4240HSTC engine oil capacity?

My notes say i used 7 qts last change for my L3940. I probably topped with a little more, so 7.5 probably about right. Ill know soon, need to change mine.

Thanks for confirming that the specification for oil fill with filter is off.
My guess after adding 2 gallons and draining some it was 7.5 quarts.

An interesting side note, with it over the full mark on the dipstick on a cold start it would give a puff of blue smoke. When I drained it to the full mark no more blue smoke.
Since I have put 10 hours on it and its been great.
