Good call on the MX. Personally, though, I don't see the appeal of the package deals. First off, what are you gonna do with a 6' box blade behind an MX? I don't even think it'd cover the tracks. My main gripe is that the implements (often better quality ones) can usually be bought for much less money used. I suppose if you can get them rolled into the financing, it might make sense, but even then, forget the implements they want to sell you. Pick out high quality, heavy duty attachments and finance them.

Well, the deal is supposed to be 10% down and get 72 month 0% so I don't see why they won't take $10K. If not, I'll give them 10% down and a large payment will be made for $9700 to accelerate the payoff, lol. Either way, I'll win.

Perhaps a bit of background is in order here as well. I store my tractor in a 40' high cube for security and to keep it out of the weather. 6' is as wide as I can go or I have to store outdoors. The MX4800 (i've measured) will fit, but will be tight. A 4701 would leave me a bit more play. I'm a hobby rancher/farmer, nothing more. While I tremendously respect those that risk it all every season to feed the rest of us (and I have friends who do -- God bless them!), that's not me. Therefore I don't need the biggest, best, and most efficient. If I have to mow a little slower because I've only got 6', so be it.

That said, the attachments in the package are all land pride and they make pretty good stuff. Each of the attachments in this package are ones I want and will use. Can better be had? Yep, it sure can but then there's always "better" version if you are willing to spend even more money. I'm after "good enough" I guess my market for used isn't very good. I shopped around forever trying to find decent deals on used in my area and literally searched almost a year to find a good brush hog for my deere. I am not interested in searching for months on end to save a few hundred but that may just be my area. Perhaps where you are, used hiqh-quality implements are abundant. For example... there are exactly TWO brush hogs for sale within a 50 mile radius of me on craigslist. One is a beat up 60" "Bush Hog" brand -- their entry level -- and they are firm @ $675. That model is barely any better than the tractor supply one, if at all. Next up is a John Deere 72" for $1K. I can get a quality new one for that.

As for what I'd do with a 6' box blade? I have about 2000' feet of "road" on my property. I'll scrape one direction and then back the other. I've got some mounds that need to be broken up, and carried to low spots with the FEL. What would a 7' get me that a 6' won't?

LP makes several models of cutters, it might help to know the model numbers. A 6' box scraper should be fine, I use a 7' but it extends well beyond my tracks by quite a bit, I also use a 6' cutter on my 5740 which is essentially the same size you are buying.

When I shopped Kubota there deals were 0% down 0% for 60, 10% down 0% for 72 and 20% down 0% for 84, so that sounds right.

Used is the same around here, most machines for sale have like 1500 hours on them and they want 3/4 or more the cost of a brand new tractor.

Land planes are really good for existing driveways, it won't cut like a box blade will, but as far as attachments go, drag behinds I feel as long as you can cover the tires your golden, rear blades loose width with angles so a 7ft is prob best on those.

All in all I'm sure you will be very happy with the new investment, sounds like your close to striking a deal.

I didn't mean to offend you earlier. I just meant to say that often the package deals that dealerships come up with aren't necessarily the best for the buyer. I don't know how much the mower costs, but here's my example. Say they're quoting you $2000 on the mower, but it's a light duty model. Maybe there's a medium duty model available for $2600. Again, just a made up example, but my point is that you should decide independently if the dealer which models of implements you need. If you already did, then I'll shut my mouth. Yes, land pride makes good stuff, but they make cheaper more breakable stuff too. Depending on your intended use, it may make more sense to spend a little more right now and not have to purchase another unit later. Especially if you're financing it anyway.

On the box blade, I just meant that a 6' may not be wide enough cover your tirel tracks if the wheels are set to their widest position. Maybe it will be.

That being said I wouldn't be in the market for a new Kubota, there way too light and for the money there lift capacity on the loader sucks, I would go with a shiny red Mahindra, there more comparable to the grand series of Kubota at a fraction of the cost. Go look at a Mahindra before you make your decision, you will find the Mahindra can lift 1/3 more, has more features and is about 800lbs heavier which helps put a lot more useable HP to the dirt and that makes for an even more useful tractor. Also Mahindra has the best warranty of 7 years.

There all made in India or South Korea

Buy the Kubota you want, don't listen to this nonsense. It is the standard argument made when someone can't afford a Kubota. Complete dribble.

Lol did I offend you? I can see from the tractors in your line up your not biased or anything. Just because a tractor is expensive doesn't mean it's the best, that being said Kubota isn't the most expensive tractor out there anyway. There base tractor is quite affordable.

Not offended, lol - sorry if it sounded that way. The implements they have in the package are "entry-level from a better maker"... I'll get a line item quotation for the tractor plus implements and if they are charging full MSRP on each one, I'll give it a second thought and maybe just get the tractor/FEL. Regardless I have cash in hand and the Turkeys (pun intended) decided to close day after t-giving AND today even though they are normally open 9-12P. Monday I'll be hot on the trail as I sold my deere. Tractors are a lot like guns. It's better to have one and not need it than need it and not have it.

It's the cash back that gets you on attachments, if you buy a Kubota and you buy another 2 or 3 implements you get something like 2k back, I can't remember exactly. The FEL is one, that's the incentive on the cash package. A similar deal is offered by JD, Mahindra, NH, Case ext. from my understanding if you put any cash down it's considered to be a cash deal.

I've done well on creating my own "package" with the implements I want and dealing on it.

Thanks to TxnbyGod...

Finally got the deal all together and thanks to the above user, he gave me a great lead to find one. The first dealer who had a great package and price sold them all literally in a few days after putting them up on the site. He said they went through 20 or so 4701s. Sheesh. At first the MX4800 was only 709 difference in MSRP for a 4x4 HST with a FEL and square bucket. I'd pay that just for the extra lift capacity. The problem is the rebates on the 4800 are 1750 less than the L series so it would have been 2500 more to get the 4800. So, I retreated to the L4701. I got each of the implements upgrated to a mid-tier or better...

L4701HST 4x4 with R4 tires
LA765 loader with SSQA square-backed bucket
Land Pride 1872 rotary with slipper clutch
Land Pride PD25 auguer (heavier duty unit)
Armstrong AG MBB72 (medium duty box blade with hinged rear blade - 605lbs is substantially heavier)
Delivery

I'm in for 30,370 delivered. That's by far the best deal I could find. Other dealers nearby wouldn't match it much less beat it.

Once insurance is taken care of, I'll do the paperwork and hopefully have it in a week. Redneck Ferrari. :)
