Backhoe L35 jerky backhoe

Even with the throttle high, the backhoe seems very jerky, is there anything i can do to stop that? It is greased up so its not that.

Good little tractor even though my jobsite is nothing but mud and standing water mixed with clay, not good.

I rented one once and was my first time ever on/running a backhoe. I thought it was me, then after getting acclimated, realized it just seemed the controls were more on/off than progressive.

Today, I have an industrial backhoe (and 300 more hours of practice) and find I can be very delicate with the backhoe if need be (even at full throttle). In fact, just last week, hit stump with rotary cutter, flipped over and a 1/4" by 3x10" piece of steel was pretzled. I tried /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif to straighten it out, heated it, used leverage....

Finally, I saw a small gap in it, thought to myself "I'll bet I can get a tooth of the backhoe bucket in there, uncurl it and rebend this to where it needs to be"

worked like a champ, /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif until the weld broke and the piece simply snapped off. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Point being, I don't think I could ever had done this with the L-35.

I was digging 2 foot trenches and the backhoe seemed kinda weak, i was having to lift the arm just to get a bucket full of clay because it sounded stuck and wouldnt move.

don't know much about the L35 but do know that 3 years ago when i needed a trench dug for my water line the guy i hired had one, and he dug that trench 18" or 24" wide(can't recall) by 5 ft deep by 60ft long with no problem whatsoever. he went throgh clay, shale, tree roots and even a few boulders with no problem. all i can tell u.
