<font color="red"> but one factor I haven't seen mentioned is resale value... The Bota wins hands down.
Resale value is regional. Can't really make a blanket statement on resale.

Don, superficially, I would agree with you. The laws of supply & demand dictate resale value and those vary by region. However, here we have some indication that the demand for Kioti is probaby very weak when compared to Kubota. Luremaker said 4 Kioti dealers versus 40 Kubota dealers. It is likely that Kioti has minimal brand recognition in that area, which would yield minimal demand. It also has minimal distribution, which also reduces demand. With minimal distribution, parts and service support is highly centralized (in only 4 locations) which puts owners at a disadvantage for both parts and service as there is a near monopoly by dealerships within their locality. Therefore, it is possible that any supply could be too much supply which would weaken resale value. Kubota likely has maximum name recognition because it has high distribution, there is lots of competition for parts & service with 40 service centers so buyers will find it easier to get a local source for help and depending on the circumstances, possibly high supplies. I would tend to think that the resale value of the Kubota would be higher given that information.
However, I tend to totally disregard resale value unless someone says upfront that they plan on keeping the tractor a short time. Most of us buy tractors and hang onto them so I rarely consider resale value to be worth anything.
