I have a question about the mower deck on my L3010 that just arrived.
The dealer is closed so I can't go ask him. I was removing the mower for the winter and I had trouble removing one of the pins. The four pins (2 on each side) that hold the main brackets came out easily. However, there is a small bracket on the right side of the tractor that attaches to the rear of the mower and I had a lot of trouble getting this pin out. I think the pin was too long and when I tried to take it out it hit the brake linkage. This pin was different than the others and it had a large head on the end of it, not like a normal clevis pin. I thought if the pin was inserted the other way (from the outside of the tractor towards the center of the tractor) that it would have been easier, however, the frame for the loader gets in the way so I can't line the pin up.
I noticed that the mower isn't the same orange color as the tractor and the loader. How old must this mower be if it has the old orange color? Would it make a difference in how the mower attached if the mower is old and the loader is new? I know the mower has been sitting around for a while because the labels that the dealer put on are all faded and cracked.
It looks like the mechanic used whatever pins he had around instead of the correct size pins. Should it be be difficult to remove this pin or should it come right out? Should I be able to insert it from the outside?
I didn't get a manual for the mower deck so I can't check for myself. I am thinking of making the dealer get me a mower deck that is the right color orange but I don't want to be too much of a pain in the neck. When they first installed the mower I asked if they were going to clean it up because it was a little dinged up (someone must have demo'd the mower). They delivered my new tractor and didn't even bother to clean the grass out from under the mower.
At first I was just going to clean it myself....but now I'm a little ticked off and I wanted to get some information before I go talk to the dealer Monday.
Thanks for your help.
