L3000DT turns over, won't start

I would check the fuel shut off solenoid. Both of my Kubota tractors energize the solenoid when they shut down, and about 4 seconds after shut down you will hear it time out and click. It may be stuck shut. They don't energize the solenoid to open they energize the solenoid to close it(stop fuel).

My tractor works perfectly. It wouldn't start because, incredibly, I had failed to push in the pull-stop knob. Something I had done every time, of course, I had ever started it, including many times that very day. When I started it last night, it started instantly and I got the distinct sense it was muttering under it's breath about me.

I'm going to make a big "PUSH TO START" sign, I guess.

Thanks again to everyone for all your help. Sorry for the snipe hunt!

Glad you found the problem, it's usually something simple, at least we all hope it is !

I remember years ago I was out dirt biking and managed to clip a tree with a handlebar. If you've ever done that, you know what happens, if you haven't, it promptly spits you off the bike, usually sideways.

After dusting myself off and checking for broken things, like bones, I picked the bike up and tried to restart it. No go. After maybe 10 minutes of kicking it over and swearing at things in general, I stopped to rest my leg.

Mused over what could be wrong, like flooded engine, ignition problems after the crash, etc. Noticed that the kill swith on the handlebar was in the "OFF" position. Sheepishly turned it back on, kicked it once more for good measure, and rode away.

Chilly

My manual shutdown has a return spring. Does yours not have one or perhaps it is binding somewhere?

Hey Dirk - don't sweat it. That's what I meant by the kill switch and the reason I knew to check that is because I did the same thing once long ago. Went through all kinds of trouble shooting before I found it! Definitely always start with the simple stuff!
