Hello everyone, been reading this board for about 6 months, I have been using tractors for about 15years now and still have learned quite a bit from all of you, Thanks. Thought it was about time to post something.
Happened across a very good deal on this tractor over the summer, had an L275 before this one, I do miss the 2 stage clutch, but the FEL and 4wd ease the pain of the loss.

Welcome, Gerarld! /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

There's something dang familiar about your tractor. Let's see -- compared to my 2500, I believe you have the benefit of some nice little ergonomic improvements, including a slick new instrument panel, and a slightly larger fuel tank.

Nice! /w3tcompact/icons/cool.gif

We're pretty much the smallest of the L's, but they more than get the job done, don't you think?

Thanks for the picture, and we'd love to see more. Maybe you could share a little of what you do with that handsome critter.

Looks like you got the right equipment for the job...nothing like a FEL for a third hand.

G. You lost the two stage clutch... What year did the change take place. I was under the impression all the new DT had the two stage clutch.

I love my B7100 like a sister, but you guys gotta quit doing this to me. I just developed another case of tractor envy. That's a fine looking rig and should be a great work partner for years to come.

I saw one last weekend at a JD dealer. /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

You have to stay away from those Dealers that put a little bit of Orange out front to entice you inside. Next thing we'll hear that you bought a JD 4300 or something like it./w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Hi Harv,
Thought you'd like this one,and yes they do get the job done. I was planning on the 2500, then the 2600 came out and the dealer offered me the same price for the 2600, couldn't pass that up.
Right now I'm uprooting a hundred or so of these annoying little sand pines. They don't ever seem to stop growing. And clearing out some thick neglected brush next to the house Other than that just, maintanence around here and the odd job that always seems to pop up when you don't have time, or money to take care of it.

Jag,
They still have the 2 stage clutch in the L3000, not really sure why the 2600's don't have it(nice clutch to have). Not sure what other models do or don't have it, these were really the only models I looked at. Been without the 2 stage for about 5 months almost used to not having it.
