L Series owners

Have an L5240 here with just under 400 hours. It does everything I need from plowing snow, finish mowing, baling hay, moving round bales, backhoe work, etc.

I have a 2008 L3400 that I use in my business. She's worked like a rented mule during mowing season and in some sever conditions from time to time. It's never had an issue.

Seems most people here own a BX series Kubota.
Any L series owners here? I'm a first time tractor owner with a nearly new(13 hours when I bought it)L3200. Any advice or suggestions?

I have the same tractor as yours. No problems at all. If you haven't done so and would like to purchase, the right hand grab bar is available from Kubota. If you would like the part number I can PM you the information.

Put your tractor model in the search box and you'll find lots of information on just that specific model.

Seems most people here own a BX series Kubota.

As you can see, not really the case. Gotta remember there are a lot of Kub tractors out there... from BX to M series. As for advice and suggestions, first would be keeping up good basic maintenance. Tractor will live longer than you if given proper care. Next would be learning what tractor can/cannot do and what you should/should not do with it for reasons of safety and personal longevity. If you've been around equipment, you'll probably have some "horse sense" about that, but if you're new to tractors, make a point of learning this stuff as you go. There are 100 ways a tractor can kill you if you aren't careful.

Beyond that kind of generic advice, tell us what you're planning to do with the L3200 and you'll probably have plenty of advice from others. Good luck and enjoy your new orange beast!

I have a 2009 L3400. HST, FEL, etc. The problem I've had requiring it to go back to the dealer is.... uhhh.. hmmm - never had any problems at all. Like someone said, I run mine like a rented mule. But I do feed her well with maintenance. You'll appreciate how 'big' the L3xx works for you if you treat her right.

I bought an L3800 DT, the three point is jerky but I don't care, I mostly mow. FEL is very controllable and nice. I love the fit finish and simplicity of the DT, and the Kubota engine is smooth and powerful. I like the all metal construction and traditional dual clutch. It's just a classic design in modern materials and CAD design. Love it! HS

My L is a GL, so a bit different machine, but one of my friends uses his L4400 in his landscaping and firewood business and loves its power and dependability. He used my GL several years ago when he was getting started out and bought the standard L for its simplicity, cost and lighter weight.

Pretty happy L-3400 owner here. The wife loves the HST and has used it almost exclusively for the past couple years taking care of her horses. With loaded tires, its pretty stable for the most part! We tried using it to pull a ground driven manure spreaded but fully loaded it lacked some HP going uphill. Very dependable machine and simple to operate though!

L4330 owner here. Love my tractor. Other than stuff I've broke, I've had not one bit of problem with it.

Welcome!

2007 L3400DT here. I call mine "The Mouse that Roars". DT is the gear model. Just do maintenance , never seen a dealer since it left day of sale. I put a secondary inner air filter in mine that does not come from factory. Still on same original battery. It has been a very dependable unit.

The air filters on my L4300 are exactly the same as my JD790. I did a thread on it a couple years ago.

well maybe that might mean better cross compatibility and competition, because i can't add much other than be prepared for some hefty oem filter prices. The tractor runs so well I can't begrudge it filters for sure, but I think a few of them flew first class from Tokyo.

If you use a FEL, you will sure want to fill a ballast box and/or weight your rear tires. With added weight, the tractor is a lot more stable. And it doesn't seem to mind the added weight.
Most importantly, most Kubota dealers seem to be a cut above.
My last one in PA was and now in NC I am fully satisfied.
so far a first class product from a very good dealer. 190 hours on my L.

Front tire pressure was a costly mistake. I think the manual says 22 lbs. I am still working on best psi so I don't have a good recommendation yet, but with 22 lbs. and a full FEL the tire bead on right front kept failing. That might be a good thread "what front tire pressure do you use for FEL work". :anyone:

I developed bulges at the end of the tread bars on my front R1's at 25 psi. Replaced the tires and now run 35 psi in the fronts at all times.
