Kuhn EL-35 Rototiller went SNAP!!

Hi all...

Borrowed the neighbor's Kuhn today to test it in a little plot I will grow on this year, and when I hit a rock it went SNAP...

I assumed it was a shear bolt but when I started looking for the shear bolt...could not find it.

Can someone tell me, how badly did I mess up my neighbor's tiller? Is there a shear bolt and where is it so I can replace it?

There should be a shear bolt on the tiller end of the PTO shaft. Turn the tiller by hand and see where it stops turning.

Unfortunately, there is NOT a shear there. I thought there would be one too. The pto is intact and spinning and the plate that the pto attaches to spins freely...not sure what is going on in the rest of the tiller but the tiller splines surely are not turning.

Ohhh, that was cold! Is it a chain drive or gear drive? I would like in the cover over the chain to make sure the chain is still together. If gear drive you got me.

What ever happened to this tiller? my dad has the same one that went snap. The shaft inside twisted in 2 and 3 gears had teeth missing. These things are over priced junk.
