Have you considered the fact that a fully functional mower deck, one two or three bladed, will take just about all of the HP that the engine has.

A lot of single bladed lawn mowers have up to 6.5 HP available. .

totally, it will need a seperate engine for sure, 5.5 hp is enough for propulsion and operation of a few select hydraulic rams, nothing more
But then this is a micro tractor and I had no intention of making the scale too big, the sharp eyed amongst you would of spied the lister lt1 diesel in the background (9hp) of some of the pics, my original plan was to use this engine, but it was just too big and heavy for what i was looking for. The other complication would have been Getting power to the mower deck via a PTO or even hydraulics, in my mind its far easier to use two 6 hp engines than one 12hp. Ill post a link to the parker specs for my hydraulic motor, is there anything in particular you are looking for?

How much of a restriction do you think the 1/4" pipe is to the motor? the spool is all 3/8 stuff, so it will never flow mmore than 3/8 worth of oil, just thinking i might get a bit more speed out of her if i increase the pipe to the motor to 3/8? because you can rev the engine hard and the drive speed stays the same, i think the flow is being restricted

Here are some high quality pictures of it with the seat on, this is essentially finished now bar the footplates.

That is hilarious. I love it. Looks quite rugged too - nice work!

Yes nice work. If you come back home and notice your garage has been broken into and that someone's out in your lawn on that tractor. It's me. I just took it for a Joy ride.

I promise after I get done Joy riding your new tractor I'll put it back and fix the door. :D

Im still working on this, i have made the mudgaurds, footrests and pedal and started the front linkage, ill gets some more pics up soon.
I also stumbled accross a working honda ride on mower, very cheap, in need of some tlc, i think i will fix the honda (broken lever and some bodywork damage) And i will keep the small tractor for other tasks (ive yet to think of anything substantial lol) Ideas on a postcard, it can plough snow for one week of the year, not sure about the other 51 though! A rake for my gravel driveway maybe? any other ideas?

probably good for hauling a small trailer, running a log splitter or just about any other external hydrauilic impliment that does not need to be attached to the tractor.

It depends on what your land is like. A little guy like that would be handy.

Pull a pasture drag
Little dump cart for grass clipping, mulch, firewood, etc.
Mount a mid-mount blade for driveway grooming
You could probably pull a small disc or spring tooth for garden prep, etc.
Pull a fertilizer spreader or sprayer
Lawn Dethatcher
Lawn Aerator
Lawn Sweeper

That's the short list to get you started.

That all sounds like good solid tasks, certainly worth making a small 3 point hitch log splitter for it, as i have a wood burning stove.

Chaffe this is fantastic.
I had a contractor Antonio Carraro TRX 8400 tractor that snapped the cast iron transmission casing, like many others. Google: Help I Broke My tractor in Half.

So I admire the self builds. Have a look here:

I decided to learn to make the unbreakable or easy to repair with local materials.

JJ, I think he said the mower deck would have it's own engine.

Been a while since an update, but the project is back on track! A filterhas been added to the tractor and the three point linkage is well under way. Not designed to lift a great deal for fear of lifting the front and/or bending something the linkage will be powered with a small cylinder. Anyways, here is a few pics of whats been happening, ive also made a log splitter and been using it with great results.
