I've had John Deere Gators for many years but I recently looked at the Kubota RTV-1100C utility vehicles. Utility Vehicles - RTVX1100 | Kubota Tractor Corporation Very nice and appear to be well-built. Since I retired I've been using my Gator for some heavy work and I think the Kubota may be better suited for what I'm doing. I'm very impressed with the cab, plenty of room and the air conditioning would be great in upper 90 degree weather. Has anyone bought one or driven one? Problems or complaints?

there are thousands of them out there. They are great machines. Biggest complaints are usually hard shifting between ranges.

I just received my RTVX 1100C yesterday. I really like it. I have a 2008 RTV 1100 that has been a terrific machine. I use it everyday and it has never let me down. The AC is why I purchased my original machine because of the heat and humidity in the south. I think you will like the 1100C if you decide to purchase. I still have a JD Gator 6X4 diesel that just keeps going and going. Never understood why JD did not make a cab machine like Kubota but would not swithch. All my other equipment is green.

Looks like I've made the deal for an orange w/alloy wheels/atv tire RTVX-1100C. Probably get it Tuesday, shop is busy but all they need to do to it is install the radio and check it out. I'm real impressed with the attention to detail on this machine. I hate to get away from JD but the Kubota will be a better machine for what I do. With the Independent rear suspension it rides as good as my 855D and has the same ground clearance.

Congratulations on your new machine! I have been comparing my old 1100 to the new one and like what Kubota has done. I especially like the roll up windows! As I said before, my 2008 1100 never let me down and I expect it will be running for a very long time. I change the fluids and filters as required and keep the engine and transmission clean using compressed air at least once a week. So much easier to work on equipment when dirt and trash are not falling in your face each time you move underneath! Enjoy your new ride!

Picked up my RTV-X 1100C today. I think I'm really going to like it. It's a nice feeling to drive around checking the cows in 90 deg weather with the a/c cooling the cab very well. Actually rode better than my Gator 855D, probably because it weighs more.

Thanks for posting... this is on my brother's wish list for the ranch... so far the expense has made it a no go...

Don't see any around here except the occasional Gator...

Some of the ranches still use old Jeep Cj's... no air of course.

With the alloy wheels and radio it was $19,100. I hope to have it a long, long time. I don't consider this just to be a UTV, it's built more like a tractor. I've made good use of the A/C lately.

Have had my Kubota RTV-X1100C cab now about 6 weeks. Options include Camo, alloy wheels, work site tires, radio -- cost very similar to Jesse1. Like it more now after 37 hrs on the meter. It took a little while to get used to the HST transmission when going up steep hills here in central PA. The cab A/C and heat is great and a big factor in the purchase over other UTV's.

Good looking RTV Jesse! Enjoy it.

Congratulations, that's going to be really nice during the heat of summer and the middle of winter. Nice not to have to deal with bugs too!!!! Did you get it in Tyler? I've bought parts from them and I'm really impressed with how quick they are at getting what I wanted, but every time I talk to them about buying, I get a salesman that I just don't get along with and end up going somewhere else.

Eddie, I bought it from Bagley Tractor in Longview. After I talked to the salesman there, I e-mailed him pictures of the gator so they could give me a quote on it. I actually loaded up my Gator and took it to Henderson so they could look at it. The salesman there never even bothered to call me back. I intended to check with Tyler but never got over there. So far I'm very satisfied with it, the A/C is GREAT!

It's on my wish list for someday...

Last time I got serious about an RTV I came across a Suzuki Samurai with a bad bearing in the transmission for $1,000... $130 dollars later I had replaced all the bearings and the clutch disk and it has been trouble free the last 15 years...

So far I really, really like this vehicle. The cab makes it everything I've needed in a UTV. My only possible complaint is the acceleration and top speed. I know this is a work machine and I seldom go over 12 mph in the pasture but the times I've tried to accelerate to full speed it's slow to go and can't get over 18 mph unless it's going downhill. The engine revs up but the speed comes up very slowly. I believe top speed is 25 mph but I don't think it can do that. Anyone else have the same results?

/ Kubota RTV-1100C #17
Mine won't hit 25 with the ac running.

/ Kubota RTV-1100C #18
25 max is all there is sadly. Even with a turbo as I understand it.

A top speed of 25 is fine but my question is whether all of the RTVs accelerate so slowly. It sounds like the engine is developing full rpm's but the speed doesn't seem to match what the engine rev's are. If you have a hydrostatic trans tractor you can run the engine at full throttle and press the pedal to run faster. Evidently the RTV trans is not designed to act the same way as a tractor does. I've noticed that you can back off the accelerator some and it will actually pick up speed. I've only tried to run full throttle a few times since it's still not broken in. I'm going to do the 50 hour oil change tomorrow, maybe there's something designed into the first trans filters that keep you from running too fast until you change them out.

There is the "feature" of the VHT.. let of the gas a bit and the speed will increase. Takes practice..And for the record, I dont really like it.
