Kubota regened again today

I have a New Holland/LS with an HST. I run it like you would any other hydraulic equipment like a bobcat or a mini. Set the RPM above 2000 and run it unless you need more for PTO.

Certainly something to be said for that kind of simplicity Jimbo... unfortunately it is proven that the new systems produce less pollutants so we must all comply or buy pre-emissions tractors. I've had 2 older machines over the last 25 yrs or so.
Lots of them out there yet. For one I like the older better built models. I like the gear drives better than hydros. I have a hydro Bolens and it's an 1987 and no emmissions either.

I've never seen a pre-emissions tractor that burned diesel but didn't smell like it burned diesel. That one is a real keeper.

I wanted a new tractor with a cab. Not a used tractor that was someone's problem before I owned it. I bought a new tractor and with it came DPF. So be it. I haven't had any real issues with mine. It regens at 100% soot level which translates to about 100 hours. I don't smell diesel or see diesel smoke. I don't even know it's any different other than the DEF fluid. If it gives me problems I'll deal with it. But one thing is for sure, it doesn't scare me.
One of the biggest problems with emmissions is they need a computer to work with all the sensors. I own a 1980 vette, last year before a computer, and no sensors. I own a 1987 Bolens tractor, no computer, no sensors. I own the Kubota, no computer, no sensors. When yours starts going bad and have to take it to a dealer to fix you'll notice the difference. Mine are all simply to fix.

What models? Maybe I need o start buying Bransons.
I believe it's every one of them over 25hp. Any of the pre-2020 models can have their data logger just disconnected and removed. No other mods (after replacing the DPF can). The pre-2020 builds have no way of knowing that the filter and data logger have been taken off.

After 2020, you can still do it, but Branson changed up the system a bit, and disconnecting the data logger will cause some dash cluster stuff to stop working (tach and water temp come to mind). The newer post-2020 models also have a butterfly valve on the exhaust that can be closed to do a "regen" and heat up the DPF cannister to burn off the soot if needed.

The nice thing is that the TYM and Bransons have a muffler available to delete the DPF and run like a pre emission diesel. Not possible on the CDI engines.
That would be worth buying those two brands just for that reason.

My first and only regen on my L3901 was at about 20 hrs. I had been running it like I had my old tractor (just added RPMS for the job at hand). I talked the regen over with my salesman and he said I should change my habits as far as the RPMS I was running. Since then after warmup I run the engine to at least 2k RPM or higher. I now have just over 51hrs, without a regen since the one @ 20hrs.

Mike
I vote this being reason of long periods between regen. I do the same.

You are not running your engine hard enough. If you want to reduce the frequency of your regens, you have to run it at higher rpms. 1500 rpms won't cut it. I understand what you mean about not needing more rpms for the task your working on, but the emissions system needs more rpms to run cleaner and run the filter hotter. The hotter (within reason) your filter gets, the less often it will regen.

I no longer have any concerns on my own system (different design than yours) because mine is completely removed. Now I can operate at whatever rpm I think is required to perform the task at hand, and to hang with all the emissions B.S. You have my sympathy.
Awesome. If they offer a relatively inexpensive emission delete system for my Kubota I will be doing the same. I did it with my 2014 F250 diesel and don't have to worry about regens or plastic DEF bottles.

The issue with that is, once you do that, it's yours forever.
WRONG!
So if I sell my deleted emissions tractor to an individual I have to reinstall the ridiculous DPF? :ROFLMAO:

If anything I just increased the value of the tractor by $$$$
