I have a Kubota L 245 with a Kubota L1700 front end loader. The problem is the power steering cylinder squirts hydraulic fluid from the bleed hole. I am assuming there is some sort of seal leaking in the unit. The Kubota dealer here says it is after market and they are not able or willing to help. The unit is the samy color as the rest of the drive train, not that this really means any thing. There is an ID plate that has some numbers, but no manufacturer. The numbers from the plate, Tractor Model - L235 DT, power steering model LL 915, any ideas?

Thanks

Welcome to TBN:D

Sounds like the internal seals are leaking badly. You should try a local hydraulic shop to get it rebuilt-should be less then about $100 or so if you take it to them.

You could also rebuild it yourself-but without being able to get a seal kit from Kubota then you have to accurately measure the old seals-then order the same size and type.

Most cylinders take the same seals to some degree and as stated most companies can get the kits that are needed.

Where is this plate located?

Sounds to me they used power steering parts from an L235FS or L235DTSC (the 235 models with powersteering). LL915 might have been the kit number to add powersteeing to a L235FC or L235DTC to make them an 'S' (for power steering).

I would go to the dealer and look at the parts manual for the L235FS or DTSC and see if what they show for cylinder etc. looks like what you have on your tractor. If so get the rebuild kit and either take it somewhere or do it yourself.

Here is what they will tell you at the dealer when you look up the L235 ps system - "all i see is the complete unit, that will be 1700 bucks - please drive through" ahah

Now after about 5 minutes on the internet I found that the steering unit for the l2350 is the same part number as the L235 , but when you look up the L2350 it has a break down of the steering system with all the seals, bearings etc etc

GOOD LUCK !
