Kubota M6800 shuttle grinding

We've got a Kubota M6800 with a dry clutch which we had to replace last winter. It has been working fine until about a couple of weeks ago. Now when "shuttling" between F/R, there's a grinding noise when trying to go into R. The clutch is adjusted within specs. Not sure if there's a sync problem or if maybe the throwout bearing isn't fully disengaging. Figured we'll have to split it either way. Any suggestions appreciated!

I once owned a M4900 that acted similar to what you describe. Then one day it locked in reverse. Long.story short story I had to split tractor & R&R reverser assembly. My tractor had been used quite a bit handling 18 wheeler loads of rd bales.

The reverser assembly you're referring to, is it the shuttle gear case that's depicted in this blowout:

If so, it looks like it's accessible by just splitting the clutch housing from the engine. I was hoping that's all I would have to do. But kinda figured I would have to split the transmission also.

You're correct. My tractor was split between engine & clutch housing to R&R synchronizer assembly.

Did you have replace the whole assembly or are you able to repair parts that are inside of the assembly?

I replaced the syncro pack not the complete unit.

There's about three different parts blowout for the shuttle assembly. This one show's the internal parts, finally found the one that shows the internal workings!

It's been several yrs since I repaired the shuttle but I think I had to replace the syncro assembly(key 110)
