Kubota L6060
Kubota L6060. In high gear rabbit I noticed a loss of power coming up a slight grade that should not have bogged down. Today same thing then started running fine then threw a P0093 code. (Fuel system leak or loss of fuel pressure).

When this happens RPMs drop from 2500 to around 1800-2000. Engine continues to run smooth, no misfire, no hesitation, no smoke. Fuel filter replaced and water seperator screen cleaned last fall about 50 hours ago.

Plugging details into Chat GPT I'm getting advice that the fuel suction control valve is likely acting up? Any other insights as to other possible causes? It only happens when the engine is working hard to maintain speed, other than that runs and idles fine. Don't notice it in lower ranges where the wheels are turning easier. Just wondering if Chat is leading me down the right path.

My guess would be the fuel filter needs to be replaced again. I have 2 L6060's and have had similar issues.

I'll start there since it's easy and cheap but given only 50 hours on the filter I have my doubts on it. Especially being intermittent.

I have had lots of issues with the fuel system on my L6060's.
One time there was trash blocking the inlet to the water separator. Once there was trash in the tank keeping fuel from leaving the tank.

Once there was trash in a check valve which is between the water separator and the main fuel pump.

Once, I had to change the entire fuel system because of water in the fuel causing rust. That job cost me $10,000.

I've also had to change the fuel filter before I expected to need to change it.

Let us know what you end up doing.

Will do. Going to start with the filter today and check seperator.

Yikes!! That's "Horrible" news about a (very) weak/inefficient fuel system!! Sorry to read about your misfortunes.

Hopefully you have got it straightened out now, and found a different source of fuel .

Is it common to see fuel issues in the L-60 series? Unfortunate if that's the case, given the Grand L is Kubota's halo compact.

My L6060 is a 2019. Just over 1050 hours. This is the first issue of any type on this one.

I have taken lots more precautions since the $10k repair. I think most of the problems were caused by condensation in the transfer tank which resulted in water in the fuel. Now, I treat every tank with diesel cleaner, I keep closer watch on the water separator, I use water separator filters on the transfer tank.

Also, the L6060 has a 'common rail' fuel system which are a lot more finicky.

Here is a link to the thread I posted about the 10k repair.

I think you are probably correct on the fuel filter. My memory seems to have failed me. Picked up both the water separator filter and the main fuel filter today. In changing them out it looks like last time I had only removed and cleaned the separator filter. I could have swore I did both but must have made a mental note on the main filter and never got back around to it. My marker notes on the filter shows it had almost 350 hours on it. Replaced both, reset the code, and roaded the tractor the four miles from my shop back home. No issues on the steeper grades and no loss of power. All seems well.

I would say that's good news. Thanks for letting us know.
