Kubota F series

Sorry, but I think you are now repeating about small front deck or gauge wheels and I belive we are now convinced you don't like them!

And then add the weight of their heavy deck on top of them!
Slowing down a little will help, but it would not be a such a major project to switch to larger gauge wheels.

Front wheels from Z mower and little bit of fabricating & welding.

Yeah, I reckon, but would rather not have to modify a ”commercial” mower that should be able to mow at “for profit” speed.

If Kubota made the F deck with some serious wheels/tires like a ZD, it would be a faster mower.

Speed (without damage) = more profit. Fastest mower I have ever seen was a Ferris. It’ll mow with a quality cut, as fast as you can hold on.

Here is a very good posting by johncar back in 2015 about replacing worn gauge wheel holder/assemblies in his F mower:

DIY replacing worn out gauge wheel assemblies Kubota F series

If I end up replacing the gauge wheel holder assemblies due to wear in my 72" deck, I would certainly convert to much larger diameter gauge wheels at the same time!

Maybe 13" solid rubber wheels:

THIS is what I need to do IF I buy a F mower (y)

Put some 15” front hard rubber tires from a ZD Zero on those bearing casters

If you buy a new F and start hacking on the deck, you’ll lose warranty.
But that would be a step forward on the bumps.

I think you’d see a WAM might have bigger deck wheels or maybe another brand (Toro, Ferris) has bigger more robust wheels.

Wide Area Mower ain’t the weapon for steep banks

I didn't buy the F series to mow for profit in the first place, I bought it for fuel efficiency and the comfort of the air ride seat and the steering wheel instead of the oars. Besides, my wife can use it as she won't use any machine with oars to steer it with.

Far as the CC M60 Tank goes. that is the commercial version of the standard CC 60" ZTR. It's loaded with grease fittings, has a welded steel tube frame and is built and designed for commercial applications. Of course it still rides like a 'Tank' and is a gas hog with it's 27 horse Kawasaki V twin gas motor. Even has twin Hydro Gear drive motors with individual oil filters and reservoirs for fluid. I got tired of pouring gasoline in it to mow the yard. 5 gallons a mow is crazy.

The newer F3710 isn’t available with air ride seat : just mechanical suspension option 😩

Does These 72” SD Pro Deck blades have 1-1/8” CH like the old ZD pro decks that several of us have retrofitted to our newer ZD ACS decks ?

Why? I see them used on steep banks round here. 4WD and wide tires.
Heck, the Kubota WAM was my F-3680 with a 100” tri-deck.
Ain’t no big deal.

This JD WAM has really big leading & trailing wheels/tires that would fare much better on holes & bumps than a Kubota F’s tiny wheels.

Same with this Toro.

Looks like they both have air ride seats, too.

Even the Kubota F-3680 WAM 100” has bigger leading edge front wheels/tires…..

The gauge wheels in my F3060 72" Rd deck are 9" outside diameter.

Would you know how large are the wheels in the three mowers shown in you photos?
