Kubota F series

Some one asked me (over in one of the other Kubota Forums) why I've bought 20 Kubotas in 12 years. Here's part of my answer.
I'm a convinced F owner that they are the best mowing machine made........resisted Zs until a few weeks ago...Now.......Might would trade my current F2680e 72" with 150 hours under 50 hours side discharge deck to a bigger Kubota diesel Z because the F is fast and grand but a Z with a big enough but not 72", maybe 60" deck might do better around the rental units.
Now do you understand? I don't LOVE em but I do LIKE em. Same for cars and trucks. They are all for sale or trade except for the F3080 72" RD deck.

Is the F2680 the one you traded but got back? I almost bought that from Barlow's.

It is. Let one of my tenants mow with it yesterday for it's final mow at my rental property and he offered to mow for me at any time with a big grin/ Told him that I'd traded it but would soon be bringing a Z and he wants to use it for me. :D
I've told some friends about it being available since it is such a fine machine, low hours (under 200 hours), well maintained and always kept inside except when using it. Barlows is pricing it to low which he often times does with used machines that aren't just regular tractors. It's the opportunity of a lifetime for someone wanting a great 2wd F with a near new 72" side discharge deck. .
Tell people, you like, about it now being available again or call and make your deal before he gets it on his lot.

It dang near didn't fit on the trailer. ZD326 no more. Probably get it stuck testing its limits.

A plus... I think.... Is 5 rear weights, thats 275lbs.. Some Fs have them some don't. I think that is weight down low and should help on hills.

Appears manual is wrong says... Fuel 16.1 US qts. I filled in before taking home, gauge was a tick above empty, and I put in 9 gallon. I actually looked below it to see if it was leaking out.

All Fs I've owned came with a big weight on the back but I'm sure there is the option of additional weights on the back which yours may have. Yes, weight is good for machines with enough power to handle it and your F does. Also drive tires can be loaded/filled like on tractors if more ground traction is needed but I think you'll be happily surprised with the traction you'll have even in the full out NOT best 4wd lever position where mine always stays and then you have the diff lock pedal that will give more traction at the rare time you may need it.

I think mine holds 11 gallons per owners manual. I get about one hour per gallon of use. Tall and thick grass with use another couple of ounces per hour. :D

The tank does hold 16 gallons when empty, The gauge starts bouncing off empty when it takes 10 gallons.
If you can run through more than 10 gallons in one day you are a better man than me. I try to top it off at the end of the day to avoid condensation in the tank.

The manual I have says 16.1 qts...and pretty obvious they mean 16.1 gal.

John

Try using a decent leaf blower. No comparison when you're using a wand with air compressor. You won't believe how fast that grass flys off. It's the only thing I use my leaf blower for now other than getting fires blasting LOL

Never to old to learn something new and a better way. I have a leaf blower and had never used it except this past year to blow snow off my upper porch during our historic snow fall days.
Used the blower yesterday to blow off the underside and deck of the F3080:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::licking::licking::cool2::cool2::cool2::drink: THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup: WOW!!! I now will be using the leaf blower for cleaning off the F and getting a second one to keep at the rental property to clean off the new Z when it arrives.
This is to good information to not share with all F owners so I'm going to post this to a new separate thread to share with those that may not read this one. Again, thank you, thank you.

The blower works awesome for sure and I use it after every mowing. I flipped up my deck the other day and scraped and carefully pressure washed a build up of grass clippings from the underside of the deck, it was looking pretty gross under there. I don't want to deal with deck rot down the road so I'm going to stay on top of that as well. I followed up with a thorough greasing.
