A Dremel tool with a round sanding drum, would make short work of the problem also. then put a little grease on the surface with your finger, and put in the ball, and tighten the heck out of the nut and your good to go.

Before I got a chance to actually measure the drawbar's hole, my dealer responded to my email about this with: "I don't know why, but it's like a 15/16" hole; kinda dumb. But anyway, I would just use a 7/8" ball and tighten it down good so it doesn't flop around- it should be fine."

The hole is probably metric, maybe 24mm. I would take the drawbar to a machine shop and have them drill it out to 33/32 (26mm). Or you could get a Demming bit for your 1/2" drill motor and do it yourself. Then you would be set for any ball or hitch pin 1" or smaller. If you want a smaller pin to fit tightly, just use a bushing.

Just gave in & bought another $7 2" ball at HD with a 3/4" shaft. I'll put a bushing in it & be done.

Sounds like a plan, assuming of course the bushing fits in the hole...
Hang on to the receipt from HD, you may be back sooner than you thought.
In all seriousness, good luck.. it probably IS metric. I think the one I put in was 7/8 and a little sloppy, but I can't remember for sure.

I needed a 2 5/16 ball on mine and they have 1" shafts. I bought a 1" drill bit with a 1/2" shank and put it on my drill press and 15 seconds later the ball fit perfectly.
