Is the massey scut a 3 range trans? Hey Larry maybe he should put a grammer air ride seat in a BX-25? I am thinking of doing this on my Ventrac as Eric O has lit a fire under me.

There you go, the Grammar on my 5740 sure has saved my back, we are also putting an air ride base on our M8540 this winter, already bought it. If I HAD to run our other tractors, I'd sure have to put one on.

I'll have to check Eric's out.

tire air pressure will affect the ride. I only put enough air to inflate to full height. It makes a huge difference when mowing with my BX.

I am not sure of availability but you might also want to look into an air-ride or upgraded suspension seat. I have back issues and have considered it but haven't dug into it. I don't use my tractor to mow as I have a zero turn but if you can afford it and it's available, it might be a godsend. GTS it. Google That Sh*t

I took a quick look at upgraded seats and I would have no problem spending what it takes for a better nicer seat. btw, all the SCUT models I have looked at are two range transmissions. Apparently the three range HST in the Kubota B models and more ground clearance are selling features compared to the SCUTs.

I suppose installing a Lazy-Boy recliner, with flip out ottoman, plus wearing google glasses to surf the web while mowing are out .....

When I was looking I though the MF was an enlarged riding mower and the JD and NH were more like smaller tractors.

Sitting on the MF my head was taller than the ROPS (I am 6'7" tall). So MF right out for me.

Trade off between NH and JD for me was that NH Was a couple grand cheaper and has a bigger FEL lift capacity.

Down side of the NH is the bucket is not quick detach. For me that is ok.

Ultimately I cannon imagine a comparison of an MF to another FEL and saying the MF was bigger. It looked like a toy to me.

Now you are talkin'... I haven't found the ground clearance to be an issue. I have to admit the front tires are pretty puny though... I beat my BX harder than most I am sure and it is taking it with a smile. Did have to put tubes in the fronts to keep them from slow leaking. Common issue. I'm rarely out of turtle mode as I am dealing with a sloping property so personally I can't see the need for 3speed HST but others that mow, or like to go fast may think otherwise. Fast for me spells danger and back pain.

Congrats on finding something you like and will enjoy. I personally have a BX but fully understand that everyone has something they prefer and glad you found what is best for you.
Happy tractoring!
