2003 Kubota BX-22
I know that I saw a post here about someone that has a cab for a BX-22 tractor, but I have searched for the information, and I have yet to find it. Did I just dream this, or am I experiencing another Senior Moment in time, when fiction and reality seem to be the same. If you have one, or know of one, please let me know. The Curtis Cab will not work on the BX-22/23 because of the backhoe attachment. If I remember correctly, it was manufactured in Canada by Laurens?? Did a Google search, but came up blank... thanks....

Try Curtis. I have one on my bx 2200. My understanding that the rear panel can be either glass or vinyl. Believe that you would need a vinyl back to be able to either remove and or roll up to allow seat to swivel.

Interesting...but I see that the ROPS is gone with the cab installed. One would have to hope that the cab gives at least as much protection during a roll-over!

Jim,
From what I read in the specs, looks like it affords rops protection..Take a look at it and tell me if I am wrong.
Thanks,
Tom

Here is a list of ROPS Standards as given in the specs: <font color="red">
R.O.P.S. cab CSA B-352, ASAE S-383, SAE J-1194 </font>

That makes sense...I didn't read any of the details! <G> Silly me.

In a second look, I'm wondering how convenient this is going to be with the BH. It appears that the window will open somewhat, but I wonder about how "comfortable" one will be with the seat reversed for BH operation, etc. I guess I'm having trouble visualizing that just from the pictures. (But I'm not a candidate for this thing anyway...a few plows a year don't really motivate me to require more than just some heavy clothing)

At the price for one of those babies I would certainly have to be using a snowblower a lot to justify One.

If I ever am able to afford a cab for My BX2200 it will more than likely be a Curtis soft-sided cab with a heater of course.

But the CFO says that is a long way off /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I have the Curtis soft side cab on my BX2200. Yes they are a bit pricy. You have to look at the overall picture when you decide to get a cab or not. They are not just for snow. They come in very handy in rain or windy situations as well. When I put my driveway in, I dug out where the driveway had not been before. As I was finishing up it started to rain. Got soaked trying to get done. Cab sure would have been nice then. Also, I had the cab when I was doing some work for the soccer league filling in low spots and such on a windy Saturday. I was glad that I had the cab then as it kept all the dust and blowing dirt out of my face. They are not for snow only but they work well there also. LarryG

Larry...... there is no question that a cab is not for snow only, it is more a matter of cost. The cab for the BX-22/23 costs between $3500 - $4000 depending on the accessories that you want to add to it. Every thing such as windshield wiper is an add on. Curtis doesn't make a cab that will accommodate the backhoe, so they are not in the running in this instance. If I had a BX-1500/1800/2200, there is no doubt in my mind that the Curtis cab is the way to go.... I am hoping that someone here has experience with the Laurin cab on a BX-22 that can give some insight as to value vs. cost, or to put it another way... is it overpriced or just so well built that it is worth the additional cost.....

My $125 golf cart cover set up does everything for me. I thought without a windshield wiper it would be a problem. But the snow does not stick to the cover. Heater would be nice, but staying out of the wind, and a heavy jacket, is all I need. Looks like the tractor will get a work out this weekend /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I had a hard sided cab with a wipper and glass windows on my Ingersoll tractor. Was a lot of fun getting it on and off each winter. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
