Kubota B3350 tractor regeneration problems

I am looking for a used tractor about the size of the Kubota B3350, I will buy the best deal I can find, I have seen a few used Kubota B3350's not sounding like a bad price. How do I know if it had the $1100. upgrade? One thread stated that dealers won't even sell the 3350. Would anyone recommend buying a used 3350? Thanks for any help.

I bought the 3350 as I live at 4,800' and thought the turbo would be a good idea - power loss with normally aspirated being about 3% per thousand feet. The summer heat in the high desert makes that even worse.

Had I to do it over again, I'd get the B2650HSDC. That's a sad testament, but true. The 3350 hasn't given me any trouble, though at 600 hours the regen interval is less than 10 hours. The whole idea is, IMO, a liability.

Tractor Data com shows the B2650 as Tier IV I found a interesting Kobota link showing when tier IV is used, but this site won't let me post the link.

as a former owner of a b3350 and currently an owner of a b2650.... the 33 had loads more power. when it wasn't in the repair shop... the a/c worked so much better as well... but due to the regen issues never being resolved. and after a year of the tractor almost constantly being in the shop, (sometimes after only a few minutes of use), they offered to buy it back.... it had a little over 350 hours on it... it had a new computer, wiring harness, a dpf, larger alternator and over 8 trips to the dealer for repairs, not counting two service calls. one where the district service manager was present... i won't count the time, the dealers computer died before he could hook it up to the tractor... two weeks later they came and picked up the tractor.. out of the year, the dealer had it almost 9 months... i even ran it at full throttle for over half of the hours on the engine, i never let it idle, after the second trip for repairs, not even to let the turbo cool. as per dealer instructions... i forgot to mention, they replaced all of the sensors for the engine... and installed a different thermostat.

Holy smokes, poor you! Are the newer ones any better, or did you perhaps just get a lemon?

Is the B2650 tier IV or is under the HP limit?

The B2650 doesn’t have any of the emission controls like the B3350.It is under the horse power requirements. Mine runs great, no issues.

All tractors must meet Tier 4 now, whether they do it with or without emissions controls. Tractors 26HP and under automatically meet Tier 4 without emissions controls.

I've never heard of a "$1,100" upgrade.

Kubota did issue several upgrades during the model run (not issuing any more) but no recalls.

Dealers are supposed to perform any and all upgrades when the machines come into the shop for any reason but not all do.

Only a dealer can determine if a specific tractor is up to date.

All the DPF/regen problems with the 3350 is what convinced me to buy a used B3000. I would have liked to have a brand new tractor with the warranty, but was scared off.

A couple of dealers talked me out of getting the 3350. The 2650 was just a tad too small for me.

So far, I like the B3000.

I would not under any circumstances purchase a B3350 in the current configuration. The system is flawed. So much so that Kubota is releasing an entirely new Tier4 setup for this machine soon. I thought it was supposed to be this year sometime, but maybe next. I dont say this often...but steer clear of this machine for now.
