Kubota B3350 tractor regeneration problems

Used the block heater for an hour before plowing the last storm....started right up and ran like a champ.....engine warms up quicker with the winter front and with the air horn removed (per Kubota instructions) had no snow in the filter. Maybe my imagination, but the lights seem brighter when I'm plowing at night with the heater and radio on. Still waiting for my first regen after all the upgrades.

For my tractor, I won't recommend any other type of rear work light. The mounting bracket, harness connectors, and switch all fit like a glove. The switch even has its own on-indicator light. My only recommendation for Kubota would be to get with the 21st century and replace the halogens with LEDS.

You know, you can put switches on any light, even if it didn't come with them. That way you can turn them on without the tractor key on. Here's a thread I did long ago on this.

Here's another great one done by 94BULLITT

No thread hijack intended; this was just relevant to the discussion.

Just got back from my dealer but while I was there he mentioned that they needed to upgrade my 3350. From what I gather there is a cpu upgrade, new intake snorkel, winter front (bra) and a new high cap alternator. There is also a new side panel with a "bump out" to make room for the alternator. Estimate is 8 hours labor plus $1,000 in parts. Kubota is picking up the entire cost......As has been mentioned in earlier posts, Kubota does stand behind their products. Takes two days and the dealer is picking up the unit. Hopefully we have scheduled the upgrade when there is no snow in the forecast!

My early (default no auto regen) B3350, serial 50443 (or there'bouts) was in for upgrades a couple of months back and did not get a new alternator or grill bra. Just called my dealer and he can't find anything about those changes being covered by warranty. Could someone who's had this update please post more info on Kubota's numbers for it? I'd sure appreciate the help.

Bumperm, my B3350 is number 50512. I just got it back from an update and my dealer didn't find any of those either. Not sure what they did on mine beyond software update. But no snow here to test with blower or reason to run, so I'll wait. rob

Okay, thanks! Sounds like what they did to mine several months ago, including replacing the turbo vent hose (a small hose they said could collapse). They didn't say anything about removing the snorkel to prevent intake icing - I've been doing that on my own. Prior, I never had an ice up failure to run issue, but I checked the filter some time after blowing and it was soaked.

If there's a new bigger alternator, I'm thinking we should have gotten that.

My s/n is 50244 so is probably from the the same mfg specs. I don't know of any numbers as this upgrade was verbally (mentioned in previous post) given to me by one of the co-owners . I have posted pictures of most of the visible changes they made. Guess I would go back to the dealer as I got the impression that Kubota made the dealers pay for all the parts before the work was performed so they would get the work done pronto if they wanted to get paid. I'll try to get more info as I have some parts that I ordered that should
be in next week.

Sorry for your problems. It just goes to show that ALL tractor brands have service issues from time to time.

Any update, SandyC?

Also new problems for me. Since the last programming update late last year ('15), I haven't been able to do an auto regen as before.

My B3350 is an earlier one, so the default is no Auto-Regen. After I start, I push the Auto Regen "enable" button if I'm going to be operating the tractor for any length of time and at a power level that will allow auto regen. When this happened in the past, the panel auto regen would come on steady and 20 minutes later it would turn off, mission accomplished.

Now I push the auto regen button enable, and when it wants to regen is starts flashing the panel auto regen light, but does not start an auto regen. It'll continue like that and then demand a parked regen - - and to make matters worse, it's hard to get it to do th e parked regen(had to start and stop the tractor several times).

So the first question, did they reverse the function of the auto regen enable button? (i.e. is it now defaulting to auto regen enabled and I'm disabling that by pushing the enable button after start up?

Any help appreciated. Anyone with an earlier one having any of these issues? I called the dealer and he said he'd call his rep on Monday.

thanks,

bumper

i finally got my tractor back the last week of march. they installed a new computer, wiring harness, alternator and modified fender to make room for the new alternator. a couple of sensors and software updates. i've put over 20 hours on it, in one week. it's running great, except they left a ground wire off or something, as when the lights are on, the hazard light glows. it's in for it's first service, which has been completed. just waiting for the wiring to be fixed. so far it's taken a week. not real happy about how long it's taking.
did i mention that i bought my new tractor right after the first of the year..
