Kubota B3350 tractor regeneration problems

Just got back from my dealer but while I was there he mentioned that they needed to upgrade my 3350. From what I gather there is a cpu upgrade, new intake snorkel, winter front (bra) and a new high cap alternator. There is also a new side panel with a "bump out" to make room for the alternator. Estimate is 8 hours labor plus $1,000 in parts. Kubota is picking up the entire cost......As has been mentioned in earlier posts, Kubota does stand behind their products. Takes two days and the dealer is picking up the unit. Hopefully we have scheduled the upgrade when there is no snow in the forecast!

Sounds like they may have the problem figured out :) Will look forward to your "report" after it is back home and you have put a few hours on it.

Also will be curious when dealers/customers/shoppers see in dealers lot...ie; new bulged out hood, etc?

Hope that in a few months the 3350 "issues" appear resolved and dealers have units from factory with "fix".

Thanks of keeping us posted...I think the extra HP of the 3350 would be helpful for my brush-hog/flail/finishing? mower use in heavy grass/weeds...and my root/small stump and trail dirt work with box blade and other fun implements as I may "discover".

Oh, just a quick additional question...I have not seem nearly as much region "issue" discussion on the L 3301 or L 3901?? These would be my potential size option should I decide I could also use the weight and frame size. What has been owners' experience (regen) with the L 3301 and L 3901? Is there some design difference that makes the L 30HP units less problematic on regen...or is it similar engine with same issues? Thanks...TMR

the problematic system is only on the B3350 and F3990, all the other tractors use a different design.

Thanks...that is interesting. Is the B 3350 a bit "older tech" and perhaps the L 3301 and L 3901 "newer tech"??

Also, have you seen the new "fix" kit? Any idea when the B 3350s will show up with the "fix" done? Perhaps with a bulge in the new hood?

Thanks...kind of sounds like we are getting closer to a workable, longer-term fix on the B 3350s?

More than anything, I think this is why Kubota has such a loyal following. They stand behind their stuff so there is no fear in buying anything Kubota. They will fix it, regardless. Toss in generally exceptional dealers and I'm sold. Kubota has become the elephant in the room.

I agree with sixdogs in that Kubota stands behind their equipment. It has taken them a while to figure out a plan, get the necessary parts and then implement the plan. The dealer told me the parts cost over $1,000 (dealer cost) and they will take 8 hours to install. That's a bunch of cash that Kubota is investing to make the tier 4 engines work right.
I understand that the some of the cooling system has to be rerouted as well. I'll try to submit pics once the fix is done.

Any mention of new 3350s coming with fix in place? Sure sounds like this issue is close to resolution. Thanks...look forward to seeing pics and getting your post fix comments...TMR

My 3350 has a low serial number and requires the op to push the "auto" button after start up. Not exactly sure where or if there was a change that might have incorporated the necessary changes to up the electrical juice. I'm guessing that the upgrades/updates may be aimed at the cold weather folks first.

my B3350 is currently in for a new computer, upgrades and having the fel hydraulic pressure increased. they ordered a new engine speed sensor as they were doing the pre-delivery. my tractor only has 14.5 hrs on it so far..
also i'm having the rear work lights installed.

Well it's off to the shop. Fingers crossed it's back before next snow! The guy that picked it up said it is their fourth upgrade and they have one mechanic who is doing all the upgrades so that there is consistency in the work.
I am wondering If the upgrade will mean that the regen "auto" will by default be on when starting ? Would eliminate some problems when the op forgets to push the button....anyone know?
