Kubota B1750

Need some help. I just got a B1750 and love it. This thing does all I need it to do. My issue is that I want to lock the rear Differential and cannot or do not know how. On my left foot side there is a hook shaped pedal. I was told to push down on pedal and then I am locked.
Well I push down as hard as I can and nothing happens. It want go down. I do not have a manual so guess work is my game.
Please help .

If its like the b7300, you need to just hold it down for locking the rear dif. It's locked as long as you're pushing on it.

Thats correct also for the B1550 which is near identical to the 1750. It only locks as long as the pedal is held down. I'm guessing thats a feature to avoid damage. Accidently leaving the diff locked on, on a hard surface, might cause some expensive breakage.
