kubota 3130 question

Hello out their in tractor land ,I'm new to this sight but have read some questions on it before.
I thinking about buying a 3130 kubota GT will it pull a 6 ft. rotory cutter?

If you did not get an Operators Manual with it, buy one. It will give you a pretty good idea about equipment use and show the proper maintenance intervals as well as how to.

A lot is going to depend on the cutter and what you will be cutting as you can get light, medium and heavy duty cutters and some things are a lot harder to cut.

I really think a five foot cutter is about going to be the biggest one that will work well, but others may have better information than I.

I'll say that it could, if it was just pasture and you had a good amount of ballast on the front. Will you have any extra power, no!

I have a 3130HST and have used a Woods 5ft with it. My use was on a former hay ground. The dealer recomended the five foot but I always wished I would have got the six foot. One can always slow down or pull out and cut a less than a six foot swat but when the cut is not as high or thick gaining the extra foot would have been nice. The five foot never used the power that my 72 inch King Kutter finish mower did. I sold my woods mower becouse I cut everything with a finish mower now but if I ever need another it will be a six foot.

The dealer is right that a 5' is more often the size they match with a L3130 - but that tractor will handle a light duty 6 ft rotary - or even a medium duty. You can always slow down if there's too much crop to cut. A friend has a L3130 with 5' rotary - he has a wide open place and he leaves the rotary mounted on the 3-pt as a counterweight for loader work. A 6 footer would be a little bulky used that way.
