KPX chipper

I know there have been several threads about chippers but I still need a few opinions. I am pretty much settled on the KPX chipper over DR, Woods, Wallenstein... I am trying to decide whether the 6" or 8" model would work best with my 4310. I am clearly of the bigger is better school as my property will generate many larger limbs. Any experience or thoughts out there?

Which mode KPX? Does it have a power feed roller?

Bigger is better - how much does the flywheel weigh?

I know that the 8'' sponds pretty good but I would seriously think about the 6" only for the power feed. Having used both types of chippers (manual & power feed) I'd go with the power feed every time! The manual feed will rip the branches out of your hand ("it will pull the wood in with force" is an understatement!) and can be a nightmare if your glove or sleeve gets caught by a branch. I don't think I'll ever use another manually fed chipper again.

Power feed is a "NO Brainer" I had a chinese one and well, the feeder roller was great when it worked. I am still considering a chipper so I dont have to burn around here. I have not found one I really like yet.

I bought a unit second hand last yr. Made in Canada, almost a carbon copy of the Wallestien. Works perfect and has a 30" by 2" thick rotor 6" capacity. In the past I always fiqured what ever the rating was on a chipper it was really about half that and the rating would be pushing it but this machine really can do it. Problem is I don't know who made it. Its french, probably made in Quebec but haven't been able to find out. Guy told me purchased it at the Farm Science Review a couple of yrs ago for $3200.00. Sold it to me for $1500.00 with almost no use. Long and short is I would pay the difference and get the Wallenstien.

I recently purchased a chipper from KPX Chippers. They were almost 3 weeks late shipping it to me and when it arrived it had several parts missing including the PTO shaft, the main handle and other small parts. The brand name on the one I finally received was Liberty Chippers, not KPX Chippers.

After this I did a little research and found out this chipper is made in China and is sold by several vendors. KPX is one of the more expensive ones. I will not buy anything else from these folks as I still have not received my missing handle and other small parts.

Having said this, this chipper is of excellent quality and is built like a tank. It takes a little learning to figure out how to manipulate your limbs etc you are shredding. Although mine is rated for 8 inch stock, anything over 4 inches gets to be a chore to push through. I would purchase this chipper again, probably from Ebay, but not from KPX Chippers.
