Knock Out 3 Pt

Is it normal for the 3 pt to fly up quickly on at YM 1500? I got my blade attached finally and almost knocked myself on the back of the head with it when it it flew up at 90 mph and higher than I had anticipated. Of course I can raise it more slowly by pushing the control more slowly, but I'm used to my old tractor that would raise at a moderate rate no matter how fast I pushed the control. Can the speed be adjusted?

On a 2210, under the seat and between your legs is the stop valve(round knob) and a lever. The lever controls the speed of the 3pt. Clockwise=slow, counterclockwise=fast. 1500 may be entirely different but it is a place to look. If all else fails do you have an operators manual?

I have a service manual but not an operator's manual. There is some stuff under the seat though, so I'll look around next week when I get back into town.

The control under the seat just controls the down speed, not the up speed.

Sounds as if your pressure relief valve may not be working.
