Hazarding a guess here, NOT knowing anything specific to a Mechron: there has to be a way to tension the belt you are referring to. I would think it it done by a spring loaded idler wheel.
Can you post pics of the belt and pulleys that it wraps around? I suspect the tensioner is near the top of the engine. Perhaps it has let loose and overstretched the belt?:confused3:

Thanks Rick,
I pulled the secondary (driven ) pulley off and found that probably one of the guide pins had slipped out of position not allowing the pulley to get back into the closed position....leaving it open by 3/4"
my dealer ok'd that I ship just the pulley to them for Waranttee work ....much easier and cheaper then sending the whole UTV out to them

hopefully back in business before too long

no tensioners inside ...looks like a secondary clutch failure

That's awesome, hopefully you're back in business again soon! I think I would still get the W/S and Parts manuals if I were in your situation.

as with a lot of other cvt systems ...tensioning is done by adding or removing shims
