Kioto LB2204
Hi All,

I just picked up a Kioti LB2204 with loader. It's in really good shape, but there are a couple of questions I have that I was hoping someone could help me out with. I've been searching this forum and Google the past couple of days and can't seem to get a solid answer.

1. The tractor is from 1986, so I figured the trans/hydraulic oil brands listed under the hood (attached) would be discontinued. Should I be alright with Mobilfluid 424?

2. I'm not sure where the fill level should be for the trans/hydraulic fluid. The fill cap is pretty obvious, but there is no sight window. There is a bolt on the left side of the transmission case that has an aluminum ribbon on it. If I had to put money on it, I'd guess that's the fill level. If anyone can confirm that, I'd be appreciative.

3. Lastly, this adjustment knob is just below the seat. Is it for the PTO? It's right on top of the gear box. The knob won't turn and I don't want to force it.

Thanks in advance for any help-

Answer to the first question is yes that should be fine.

Second question, I thought for sure there was a sight glass on the left just before the clutch pedal. So not sure on this one.

Third question is the adjustment knob is for fall rate on the 3pt hitch. If it is tightened all the way, the 3 pt will not lower.

Hope that helps.

Congrats on the "new" tractor! I think you'd be fine with any premium tractor hydraulic fluid. If the knob doesn't turn, hopefully it's locked in the "open" position. Otherwise, like K5 said, your 3 point won't drop.

Thanks very much for the responses. The 3 point hitch raises and lowers well and I used a scarifier with it. Maybe I'll just turn the knob a little harder to or maybe just leave it be. Also, I'll look again for the sight glass. I figure if I drain it and then fill it, I should be able to look around where it fills up to and find it or at least where it should be.

I feel pretty lucky to have picked this tractor up in such great shape, so I want to make sure I do my part to maintain it.

Tractor looks to be in great shape! Think you'll get a lot of good use out of it.
