Kioti LB1914 Tahometer INOP

I bought my first used tractor, so I am new to the workings of a tractor. I am fine working on motors but the diesel thing is new.

I can't find the YouTube videos that I usually find when working on my vehicles.

A few questions on the tachometer and what drives the tachometer.

Does the tachometer run off the cam shaft? If not, what drives the tachometer? What is the proper name if I need to google for a replacement part?

I have pulled the cable and the cable looks fine. The housing the cable sits/screws into has movement from side to side like it is broke.
