Kioti CK25
I have a Kioti KB2375 Backhoe mounted on a Kioti CK25, which has been trouble free until now.

When I went to move the tractor out of the shed for the first time this season, I found that most of the hydraulics on the backhoe didn't work. (everything worked fine last fall when I put it away.)

Since the backhoe is connected to one of the rear remotes, the first thing that I noticed is that when I moved the remote lever forward to supply oil to the backhoe, the engine immediately went under load, telling me that the oil is not flowing freely through the backhoe valve body back to the tractor.

I suspected that one of the backhoe levers was in a stuck position, but all move freely and spring back to center, and all spools appear to be moving as expected. (no problem wiht linkages to the valve body)

When I try to move anything on the backhoe, motions that extend cylinders work, but motions that retract cylinders do not. This tells me that I have pressure, but the oil can't get back to tank, which explains why the engine is under load. I moved the supply hoses to my other rear remote, but still no luck.

The loader and everything else on the tractor work fine, so I think the hydraulic system is Ok.

What doesn't help is the very poor documentation in the Kioti KB2375 user's manual. The overly simplified hydraulic schematic is just plain wrong! The backhoe could not work as it's drawn, so I'm pretty much trying to troubleshoot this thing blind.
(The schematic shows all directional valves with a closed center, with no path for the pressure to get back to tank.) None of the pressure regulators are even shown in the schematic.

I plan to try to get a correct schematic from the dealer tomorrow, but thought you guys might be able to help so that I can get something done this weekend.

Any ideas on where to look first?

Is your tractor open center hyd or closed center?

Re-check the QD's.

The valve seems to be going into relief, because the flow is blocked.

If all valves are in neutral, does the engine run OK.

Are the hoses connected correctly?

X2 - disconnect both hoses and reconnect. It sure does sound like one hose may be disconnected. Maybe also check and see that the 3pt. lift control lever is in the down position.

Do you have a hyd gage installed?

You said the tractor and the other hyd were normal before. If the 3pt was in relief, you would hear it and the engine might load.

HUH ??? I thought Backhoes hooked up though separate power beyond hoses?? I have never heard of one through an rear remote valve ?

Good Luck

The 3 pt is in the center of its vertical travel, which is where it must be for the backhoe to be installed.

The backhoe is hydraulically powered by one of the tractors two rear remotes. To supply oil to the backhoe, the remote lever needs to be moved from its center (neutral) position to the forward position.

When the remote lever is in the center position, the engine idles normally, but as soon as the lever is put in the forward position, you can hear the hydraulics load the engine.

When everything is working properly, moving the remote lever to the forward position does not load the engine, since the oil should freely circulate through the backhoe valve body.

I agree; it acts like one of the hoses is not connected, but I moved both hoses to the second set of rear remotes, and the problem is unchanged.

I hate to start tearing into the backhoe valve body without a correct schematic. I guess I need to talk to the dealer.

Not sure how old your BH is but Kioti did have trouble with the control valves on some of the BH2365 and BH2375 models. Not sure exactly what the issue was but an experienced Kioti dealer who has been in business for more than a few years would be able to fill you in.

is it possible that there might be a check valve in the bh valve body ? would simply reversing the remote lever to the rear change the flow direction ?

You'll have to excuse my ignorance, just trying to learn .

+1.

I have a DK45se and my remote lever has to be in the pulled back position or I get that "under load" sound.

Does your BH have two or three hoses? If it has three hoses, then you would connect the the pressure hose to the IN port to the BH valve. The PB hose would connect back to one of the work ports on the remote. The tank hose would go to tank. You can still have 3pt with the remote lever in neutral if you need it.

If the BH has two hoses, then choose one of the work ports on the remote and connect that hose to IN port on the BH valve. Then connect the tank hose to tank. Put a plug of a QD in the other remote work port.

Use a bungee on lever to keep valve spool open.
