Kicker on JD 336 isn't working correctly

The kicker will throw one bale, but the pan won't float back down. If I lock it into safety, it will drop back down. It's like there's a hydraulic valve that's not closing correctly after kicking. Anybody have experience with these? I just picked up the baler (which works great otherwise) but I'd love to get the kicker up and running right.

Try replacing the spring in the kicking cylinder.
