I think I would prefer the lights to NOT be able to turn on when the key is off, or ave some way to keep the battery from going down. Has anyone rewired them with a repay, or tried a battery saver?

This is less of a problem since got my boy a perego Gator, but it still happens that I come out to find a dead battery and the light switch on... I have caught my, um, wonderful horse turning them on. Not what I had in mind when i told him to cover those mares...

My suggestion would be a master switch wired into the ground (negative cable) from the battery, similar to the way Cat heavy equipment. There is no way any juice can flow anywhere with this off, and this switch should be cheap, heavy duty and easy to install.

You might want to look into rewiring in such a manner as your lights only receive power when both the light switch AND the key are both in the on position, not unlike a factory radio or power windows/locks in a car or truck.
